New Grab/Hold animation..slows down offensive player

Is it me, or during this weekend they put in a new holding/grab animation to slow you down from moving? What the eff 2k? You can't move at all..who thought this was was a good idea? Please take this animation out...it's terrible and it feels forced. It's unnatural and doesn't belong in the game.

If you watch off ball movement in the NBA, you will realize that just like in football on the offensive line grabbing and holding happens a 100% of the time and just like the NFL referees they let it go and sometimes they call it, not a big deal too me at all.

I was attempting to get out of the paint in MyCareer last night after an offensive rebound that I passed out to an opponent and was sprinting with my defender behind me and I could barely move. Got called for 3 seconds. Was the first time I've ran into being that restricted with a player behind me.

There's so much pulling and pushing this year and none of it makes sense.

If I'm playing off ball and want to cut to the basket before the shot goes up to get in position for and offensive rebound the CPU can box me out from the 3 point line before the shot hits the rim.

That's cheating, that's not making the game more competitive. That's blatant cheese.

People do it all the time in the park. You beating your man down court on a fast break and your 5 steps in front of him and they do the grab animation that slows you down and they get that un-natural burst of speed to catch up you while they are holding you. Right and left analog stick toward your defender to do it.

I love the concept of all the bumping and physical contact off ball, but I don't think it was implemented well in conjunction with the defensive AI. Right when players slide off the bump they slip to the rim for an easy 2. There's just way too many backdoor scores in this game imo.

I'd hope for and expect another layer of this physics engine to iron out these issues in year 2.

Call some of them fouls and give the offense some of those JJ Redick brush off animations.
