Directv Now
Directv is releasing their new package "Directv Now" today and I would love to read some reviews if anyone here has the package.Tags: None -
Re: Directv Now
Perhaps somebody could educate me on exactly what this is. As a current DTV subscriber, I can already stream channels live on their main website.
Is this for people without who don't have cable and would like a cheaper alternative?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60 -
Re: Directv Now
Where they lost me though is no DVR function. Aside from sports I really don't watch anything live, so a DVR is a must for me. I guess I'm going to stick to my $150/mo DTV for now, but I'm always on the lookout for another alternative.
Here's the article I read if you want to look into it for yourself: http://www.theverge.com/2016/11/30/1...icing-channelsLast edited by jeremym480; 11-30-2016, 12:41 PM.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

And no CBS either... Won't be such a big deal after the NFL playoffs but as of now it is.Comment

Re: Directv Now
also- if you have a ps4, you can try it for a week free.
that's what I did.
My town doesn't have a cable provider, so directv had us by the balls. I was paying $115 a month for 1 hddvr and 2 hds.
when we just got streamable internet in July I waited for my contract with them to end.
with vue I pay $35. I had to get a couple fire sticks for the other tvs, but that was only a one time $40 each dealComment

Re: Directv Now
I took advantage of the 100 Channels for $35. Checked out the free preview for the last few days and decided to pull the trigger today. Went to my local ATT store and walked out with the free apple tv after paying for 3 months of service in advance.
I'm extremely impressed with the quality of the service..the video and the amount of channels that you get. I'm not worried about no local channels or no dvr features...those will come in the future. I can watch live network tv via the USTVNOW app or via local antenna.
I also have PS Vue but will be cancelling that in two weeks. The main reason for me is no NHL network with Vue and I get that on DTV now. The pic quality for especially when it comes to live sports is much better with DTV now.Comment

Re: Directv Now
I would love to ditch my cable TV, but I won't be able to see my local sports teams. I can't take that L. I need my METS. I can't do this

Re: Directv Now
I've been a VUE subscriber for a few months now and I've been pleased with the service, but was interested in DTV Now when first I heard about it and its 100+ channels for $35. But once the feature list started leaking, I decided it's not for me at this time. Here's the features (or lack of) that made me decide to not make the switch:
- No DVR
- On Demand shows close to a month behind current episodes
- Only 2 concurrent streams for DTV Now vs 5 at a time with VUE
- Minimal support for TV Everywhere app sign-in
- No Roku or gaming console app available
If they get some of this stuff sorted out, I may give them a try in the future but I'm happy with what VUE has to offer at this moment.XBL & PSN: zasbury25Comment
