Re: Madden NFL 17 Title Update #7 Available Now, Here Are The Details
There is no way I could go back and play the game out of the box as the instability issues are ridiculous.
Formation subs are bugged to hell and that is very important to my immersion and getting the CPU to have proper RB rotations, and depth charts for each week I play them.
Pre any patch the game would constantly freeze inside the formation sub menus. Also the draft classes had far too many stud players, there were a litany if instability issues.
I am having plenty of fun playing. I would love the QBA to be back to out of the box too. I am totally on board with that. But if that is my only issue (and pretty much that is the only issue other than the sub par CPU QB AI which IMO is hard coded and "is what it is" and the sometimes piss poor punts into the wind (when it is 10MPH or higher) which I will now sim so I don't get cheap great field position.
I am good.
I am having plenty of fun in my CFM's offline and the online league I am in. The game is certainly better than Madden 16 on many levels and on a couple it took a step back.
But I am not nearly as frustrated as many here seem to be. But that's just me. Am I going to run out and buy Madden 18?
Probably not. I expected a bigger jump from 16 to 17. But we did not get that IMO as far as the offline experience. I am generally coming to the end of the every year purchase on all sports games this generation.
NBA 2K17 is good for me until when/if I ever go to a new console
NHL 16
Madden 17
The only every year purchase I make moving forward is MLB The Show and that is solely because of the franchise Y2Y saves. Otherwise I would stick with 16 as well.
There is just not enough "wow" improvement anymore. Simple as that.
But.......make no mistake. The current development team at Tiburon are supporting this game and I think have shown plenty of commitment to keep trying to improve and fix things. I can't ever complain about that. I think it is a slippery slope patching games and unfortunately fixing one thing breaks another thing and they have to decide what fix is more important overall for the fan base.
It sucks, but it is reality.
But I am in the minority that feels the game plays far tighter and is far more stable post patch.
