I prefer MyGM because I cannot help but force trades on MyLeague and it becomes too unrealistic

I play my gm also but I hate when good players ask for too much that I cant afford to add other great players.

I play MyGM as well. I'm one of the few who likes baby sitting my players moral. Although I find it difficult to please every player.

myleague because you have the option to play a shortened season. and its fully customizable.

aint nobody but nerds got the time to go through a complete 82 game season if your goal is to get through multiple seasons and play 10-12 minute quarters.

            MyLeague. I love the customization.

I can edit rosters if I want to keep up with the season in real life, I have the ability to approve trades and reject ridiculous ones, I can prevent free agents like LeBron ending up in Orlando

Man that's cold. I have feelings. I play all 82 + playoffs with 12 min quarters. I get through 2 whole seasons every year.

ML is nearly completely customisable. I edit player ratings and tendencies as the season goes on and can keep the rosters exactly how I want them.

I like when big named players leave to go to different teams. Years ago, people would have shattered the game disc if players like Lebron and Durant would have jumped and switched teams. Now it doesn't sound so farfetched anymore. There is no black and white when it comes to teams trading. Its an entire gray area where anything is possible. If Lebron wanted to take his talents to Orlando, so be it. Doesn't effect my team.

This is from NBA 2K15, but is mostly still the same today. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...gm-experience#

I think the main differences from the article is that you can now overrule expansion and rule changes in MyLeague (they didn't have either of those in 2k15). Although, I haven't played MyGm since 2k14 so someone who has played both recently please feel free to chime in if you know of any other changes.

This is why I like MyLeague as well. I kind of enjoy micro-managing the league. If trade and free agent logic was better then maybe I could let the cpu take the reigns a little more, but with the way it is now I can't find the logic in most of the trades the cpu offers so I just decline them and work up my own trades for each team.

One thing about free agency and the reason you have Lebron's and KD's signing with odd teams is because most of the teams that they would likely go to in real life don't have the cap space to sign them without making moves to set up that signing... and the cpu doesn't get the chance to do that.

For example, in the '17 offseason KD was a FA again and I wanted to give him the same offers he had in the '16 offseason (Spurs, Celtics, Heat and was going to add Washington), but none of those teams could afford him. Only teams like the Nets, 76ers, etc. had the cap space. If the other teams could have made a trade before free agency started to make room for a max salary, like you sometimes see in real life, then maybe they could have seen KD on another team. Instead, I just let him go back to GS.

Re: NBA 2k17 GM vs. My League

I'm running MyLeague and managing a single team, but I'm having a hard time with trades. Basically, I feel like I essentially can't make any trades because there's no CPU logic to keep me honest. Any ideas of how to handle this?

                      Thanks

When you want to make a trade with a certain team, go to MyLeague Automation and move that team from user to cpu. That will give the cpu "2k logic" (which still isn't always fair, but better than nothing), the cpu team will give feedback on your offer and sometimes I think they may even send you a counter offer in response.
