Re: NBA 2K17 Patch 1.07 Available Now For PS4, No Patch Notes Yet...
I don't have the game but I'm curious...is this 7-8 GB patch actually the confirmed size? PS4 has a way of displaying a much larger file downloading than it actually is, because the download bar starts off part of/most of the way full already. That "already completed" section of the bar is not re-downloaded, but for whatever reason is counted as part of the "download" file.
For example, if the total download says 7-8 GB, but the bar is three-quarters of the way full the moment you start the download, the patch would actually be 1.5-2 GB's.
Madden patches have shown up this way several times. And since PS4 is the only update out so far (and the only method for judging the download size), I thought it was fair to ask. For me it's extremely easy to tell the difference between a 2 GB download vs a 7-8 because of the length of time it takes to download something on a 10 mb/s down connection, but for somebody with, say, fiber, they might not notice the difference that easily.Last edited by bcruise; 12-07-2016, 08:13 AM.Comment

Re: New nba 2k patch 7
Obviously not playing MyGm...check out the bugs thread and re-create what I have described in the last post. 100% crash on 2 different ps4 pros with 2 entirely different save and game datas. It's the only mode I play so I've been having to play on the original ps4 which has never had a crash ever to my knowledge. You can't argue with a 100% failure rate.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Patch 1.07 Available Now For PS4, No Patch Notes Yet...
People saying that the FG% was the only change in 1.07....fingers crossed you're wrong.
I don't mind the FG% being tuned, but personally, they need to address CPU speed/lateral quickness/acceleration on the defensive end and sometimes offensive end.
This is a personal viewpoint (echoed by some on OS) that the CPU has unnatural ability to stay in front of you when defending you on-ball. Further, on the fast break, the CPU is able to explode away from you or catch up to an explosive player of yours (and bumping you, people have vids/gifs of a grabbing animation by the CPU on the fast break) in an unnatural way.
Some attributed this to the body-up sensitivity slider, some the lateral quickness, some the acceleration/speed. There was a thread saying that accel/speed sliders should be reduced to 25/30 on HOF so that your speed with the same player is equal to that of the CPU's.
Again, my viewpoint is that this shouldn't affect PvP online play. Reason being, humans control both sides and mistakes on D will be made. However, human vs CPU games are, by my observations, greatly affected by CPU stat boosts (not seen in the sliders, as 50 for the human is different to 50 for the CPU).
I guess we'll just have to change the sliders for now. I'm happy to do this, but I'd like to see if this is true or if I'm just dreaming up things.
I have a feeling 2K, with the more recent iterations, have wanted us to play more intuitive basketball by running plays and emphasising off-ball movement.
Therefore, they decided to make it feel more 'unnatural' with the game doing weird things (like odd turnovers that always plagued 2K, silly AI teammates making silly movements, CPU doing their shot clock cheese) so as to force you into playing a more 'strategic' game of basketball.
E.g. if you keep trying to force yourself into the paint on a drive, and you're holding turbo, the CPU will force ridiculous turnovers on you when it shouldn't happen. E.g. preventing easy drives with CPU defenders always staying in front of you forces you to pass and move the ball around to find a clean look.
Not a bad thing to enrich gameplay and force the user into more variety, but all I ask is that 2K be transparent with what their direction is and that CPU advantages/disadvantages be communicated to us. E.g. start with raw numbers of badge boosts (if that's what they actually do, idk)
EDIT: >Not monetising an offline game that costs $69 and required 7 patches in 2.5 months (not complaining about this part, would love patches that fix). Really? This is a good thing? I don't think this is something to praise LOL. Not much of a gamer here (other than the sports franchises and MOBA), but what other game monetises an offline game that cost that much? Don't count DLC.
But I totally agree with your point. This is the reason why in most of online games almost every opponent overrides ACE and puts Deny to all perimeter players and off-ball. So since CPU controls 4/5 defenders everytime, of course it affects PvP online too.
Same issue regarding fast-breaks
Playing without ANY defensive rotation is possible only because CPU lateral quickness and bodying up is bumped up. There is no way irl this defense would be a viable option.
ACE is multi-advertised by 2k, yet most players online choose to completely over-ride it and play a completely unrealistic defense which is completely viable. That should concern 2kLast edited by kabamaru; 12-07-2016, 08:49 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K17 Patch 1.07 Available Now For PS4, No Patch Notes Yet...
how about fine tuning and making the CPU play within the players attributes. Sick of seeing players like Pekovic become Dirk and start doing spinning fade aways and making them. WTF...Actually see this from a lot of Centers in the game. Everything is so cheap on the AI side and they rarely earn their points.Comment

I don't have time for that. Besides they have someone on the payroll that should be doing that. The game can play incredible out of the box if the tendencies get an overhaul.Comment

And I have came to conclusion, the best NBA 2k17 was at release date. Every patch/tuning update they do make the game worse each time. Sadly, I am not alone with that view of the matter.
2k/VC caters too much for Online scrub community who yells the loudest and who gives... 2k extra cash. This starts to look very FIFA like, where FIFA caters for FUT crowd a lot, so changing gameplay to suit FUT players and Offline Single Players? Well, they have to cope with it (aka shove it guys, you don't earn us more monahhhhh).
Seriously, 7 patches in and we still have generic Kuzminskas face and hair style? Westbrook hair style not updated since forever? Body types being worse then they were in 2k16 (there was more variety to them), kits wrong for many teams...
I do get that for most gameplay should come first, but ffs it's 2016 people. Gaming days changed. We CAN demand PROPER and FINISHED product. Hell, PES 2017 adds updated player faces to the game, FIFA can do it too. 2K is just LAZY. Also 7GB patch without graphics in it is barbaric size.
Simple gameplay fix they did takes 100MB at most and that's the size PC users get of gameplay patches (100-200MB).
Why PS4 has to download 7.5GB worth of junk I don't know!!My YouTube Channel - Go and check it out ;)Comment
