Starting a dynasty from the 2016 season?

I have read on here that its possible to start a dynasty from the 2016 season by simming the first 3 years. I want to import 16-17 rosters and change the national champions with the editor. Can anyone give me an in depth guide on how to do this?

Read through the mod thread/do a search and you'll find a lot of helpful information.

The basic process if finding a roster file in the same format as which Modding tool you download (see the mod thread for your options). It shouldn't be hard as there are several you can download in the Rosters section of this forum.

You could then either sim 1 season at a time and make edits to National Champions at that time, or sim all three years and then make edits at once while also importing your roster changes. You'll want to be careful as players have 2 or 3 tables that store various data, this can be very time consuming to ensure it is done properly. I have personally never mass imported roster changes due to this, but I know several people have if you go into the Modding thread.

Wouldn't it make more sense for one person to do this, and then upload the file so everyone could basically have a new template for "NCAA 17 Dynasty"?

Interested in this as well. Way too many pages on the Mod thread to even try to find this info in a timely manner.

            Try this simple fix.

Find the SEAI table in the editor.

In the "Year" column, change it to 3.

            2013 + 3 = 2016.

This is how it works for PS2, it should be the same for PS3/360.

Didn't work for me on PS3. I made the edit during the preseason. Does it have to be done at a specific time?

I dont have the game/ps3 any more but for PS2 I do it right at the beginning of starting a new dynasty

THIS. I like things to be as realistic as possible, but I have absolutely no idea how to use the editor. I'd love to be able to start a dynasty at 2016 and see that Baylor and TCU both won the Big 12 in 2014 and they went 11-1, etc.

I've messed around with the editor a little so I can give you some guidelines. Like you said, you'll have to sim to the 2016 pre season and from there you can use the editor to import the rosters you'd like to use. I suggest looking at the mod thread to see how to use the editor but this will be the longest part of the process. If you have any questions about how to use the editor, I'll see if I can help. Were you wanting to use the 2016 schedule for your dynasty as well?

It'd be nice for someone to post a 2016 simmed dynasty, and then take a look at the data and see what has changed in it to make it start that year. Again for PS2/Xbox Original, you would change the SEYR (Season Year) column in SEAI. This is how I've done it for the PS2 mods to start in 2016, and this same table and column header is in PS3/360 dynasty files.

That might be a problem because I'm not sure if it works on macs

You can use a few different methods to get windows programs to work on a Mac.

                            1. Bootcamp - requires rebooting to Windows and back to OSX
                            2. Parallels - runs windows side by side with OSX (paid app) in a box or seamless mode
                            3. Virtual Box - same as parallels but is free
                            4. VM Ware - similar to (2) and (3) but also paid
                            5. WINE - Free software that sorta emulates windows.
                            6. WineBottler - Makes standalone apps that uses Wine to emulate windows

I've used all of these. Virtual Box or Parallels are the best options. VBox is a bit more complicated but its free. Wine is a great option for RAM usage, but its definitely not user friendly.
