    How I do Things
Just a quick, brief explanation of how my 'chises/associations/MyLeague's work. I don't play all four quarters of all 82 games because, well, who has time for that? I do play parts of MOST games, though. Generally, I SimCast the first three quarters of games. If I'm winning by 10 or less points or losing by 10 or less points going into the 4th quarter then I play the 4th quarter. I'll still end up playing the entirety of 20-25 games each season, maybe a little more depending on how much time I have.

I provide league wide updates at the end of each month. During March and April, I provide bi-monthly or weekly updates depending on how much time I have.

Sixers, Wizards Swap Noel, Porter in Four Player Deal

Philadelphia, PA (AP) -- Just two weeks before the beginning of the season, the 76ers made some noise by clearing up some of their frontcourt logjam. In one of the NBA’s worst kept secrets, the 76ers have been shopping both Nerlens Noel (the sixth pick in the 2013 draft) and Jahlil Okafor (the third pick in the 2015 draft). The first one out: Nerlens Noel. In a report first leaked late last night, a deal was in place between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Washington Wizards. Pending league approval, and passed physicals by all parties involved, the deal will be made official sometime late this morning or early afternoon.

The deal involves the 76ers sending Noel, wing Hollis Thompson, and Sacramento’s 2019 first round pick to the Wizards in exchange for wing Otto Porter and power forward Andrew Nicholson. The Wizards will add some much needed youth and athleticism to their frontcout while the 76ers will add a good two-way wing in Otto Porter who can provide floor spacing to a starting lineup badly in need of it.

And while the 76ers contacted a handful of teams about Okafor, sources say they are content to go forward with their roster as is, and use Okafor in a backup center/backup power forward role off the bench. Teams rumored to have been contacted by the 76ers for a potential Okafor trade include the Celtics, Pistons, Suns, Blazers, Bucks, and Pacers.

Re: This Starts Now: Philadelphia 76ers MyLeague

"Trust the Process" is Done; This Starts Now

Philadelphia, PA -- Under general manager Sam Hinkie, the Philadelphia 76ers spent what felt like a decade “trusting the process.” Should the Sixers “process” lead to them finding any level of success, Hinkie’s contributions should not be overlooked. Before stepping down as the 76ers general manager in April, and being replaced by Bryan Colangelo, Hinkie’s brash and blatant tanking method landed them three young, talented big men in Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, and Jahlil Okafor. Last week the Sixers used one of those three bigs into wing depth and floor spacing by adding a young, talented two-way small forward in Otto Porter in a trade for Noel. That alone should signify the end of the “Trust the Process” era and mark the beginning of something new.

The trade for Porter probably wasn’t even the biggest offseason news for the 76ers. It might not even be second. After two frustrating years of watching 2014 number three overall pick Joel Embiid sidelined with injuries, it was announced that Embiid should be ready to go on opening night. In addition, the Sixers used the number one overall pick in June to draft a player who a lot of experts are labelling as a generation talent in Ben Simmons. Simmons, a 6’10” do it all swiss army knife, can play and defend multiple positions. His athleticism, quickness, size, and elite court vision make him a “plug-and-play” player in virtually any lineup. In fact, Bret Brown announced last week that Simmons will be the team’s starting point guard on opening night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Dario Saric, who the 76ers drafted with the 12th pick in 2014, will also be joining the team this year after spending the last two seasons playing for Anadolu Efes in Turkey. Saric, a 6’10” combo forward, has been arguably the best young player in Europe the last two seasons and is only 22 years old.

Whether or not the Sixers make the playoffs this year doesn’t seem to matter to fans. After going 47-199 over the last three seasons, just a .191 winning clip, the team seems to be on the rise; or, at the very least, in a position to not be the laughing stock of the league. There most certainly will still be growing pains, and likely no playoffs once again, but if this young, promising iteration of the “Trust the Process” era Sixers can be more competitive and reach the 25 win plateau, then for the first time in what feels like forever Sixer fans will be excited about basketball once again.

Sixers Make Statement on Opening Night

Joel Embiid controlled the paint and the glass in his NBA debut, scoring 26 points, grabbing 23 rebounds, and blocking three shots.

Ben Simmons opened up his NBA career with an impressive 25 points, 12 assists, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks.

Philadelphia, PA -- The Philadelphia 76ers were hoping to make a statement on opening night to mark the beginning of what the hope is a new era of winning basketball. What they got was more than a statement. It was a roar. If opening night in Wells Fargo Arena was any indication, then the 76ers have not only the best young duo in the NBA, they might have one of the best duos in the NBA period. Of course it was just one game, and any such claim would mean one was a prisoner of the moment. However, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons had two of the most impressive NBA debuts ever.

In a wire-to-wire victory, in a game which the Sixers led by as many as 37, Embiid and Simmons led a deep and balanced scoring attack in which six Philadelphia players scored in double figures and a seventh, Gerald Henderson, had nine points. Embiid debuted with a 20-20 game (26 points and 23 rebounds) and dished out six assists, swatted three shots, and grabbed three steals to finish his stat-sheet stuffing performance. Simmons also had a stat-sheet stuffing performance by scoring 25 points, dishing out 12 assists, grabbing 8 rebounds, blocking four shots, and coming away with two steals. Newly acquired Otto Porter chipped in with 13 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds; and Jahlil Okafor fulfilled his sixth man duties admirably with 14 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.

Thanks. I really like the possibilities with the 76ers with Embiid and Simmons as my two cornerstones.

I may have to try a new slider set if the next 2-3 full games I play are that easy. One game may just have been a fluke with how "on" my guys were and how "off" the other guys were. Simmons and Embiid are beasts, but if I beat teams of OKC's caliber or better by 20+ on a regular basis, then I'll have to switch to a different set of sliders.

Balanced Attack Leads Way for Sixers in Easy Win Over Pacers

Rookie Ben Simmons put on a clinic with a 28 point, 17 assist, 11 rebound performance in Philly's 130-114 win over the Pacers.

Indianapolis, IN -- Balance was the key in Philly's win over the Pacers. Balance and brilliant individual play. The Pacers got brilliant individual play of their own from Paul George, who scored 36 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome three 76ers scoring 20+ points. That included a 28 point triple-double from Ben Simmons, 27 points and 15 rebounds from Joel Embiid, and 22 points and four made three pointers from Otto Porter. Jahlil Okafor gave Philly a great boos off the bench as well, scoring 17 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and dishing out five assists.

The 76ers never trailed in this high scoring affair, trading blows in the first quarter with the Pacers who made seven three pointers in the opening quarter. The Pacers remained hot from three the entire game, draining 16 shots from deep on 32 attempts. After the first, though, the Sixers slowly started to pull away and led by as many as 23 in the 4th quarter en route to an easy 16 point victory. These two teams will play a return game in two days, this time in Philadelphia. The win for the Sixers snaps a two game skid, while the Pacers lost for the fourth time in five games.

One game may just have been a fluke with how "on" my guys were and how "off" the other guys were. Simmons and Embiid are beasts, but if I beat teams of OKC's caliber or better by 20+ on a regular basis, then I'll have to switch to a different set of sliders.
Yes sir I suggest a change in sliders considering how close you were to beating the Cavs. These are the Cavs we are talking about, NBA Champions. But I do like the Embiid/Simmons combo.

Well, the Cavs game was a game I simcasted the 1st half. I wanted to have time to play parts of 2-3 games because I had to go somewhere this morning. When I took over the Cavs game in the 3rd quarter, we were actually winning by five points and it was back-and-forth the rest of the game. What I'm finding with these sliders right now is that I have no problem scoring points. I just can't play defense to save my life.
