Re: We are in year 2047. What year you guys in?
Just started 2066 (54th dynasty season). This is my longest, and here's why:- I love it.
- Haven't restarted. This is my original dynasty, started after game release.
- Going for the 60 year mark.....
- no new game versions to interrupt.

Dude the same here. Especially because I'm better at the game now that I'm older.
I had tto tough it out in my dynasty in season 3, but I got to season 4 and put my team in a new conference and we had a brand new QB and HB situation and it's a breath of fresh air.
What I'm gonna try and do is mix it up. I am gonna rotate between NBA, WWE, and NCAA. I don't see a new game coming anytime soon so I'd like to get a long one in before they finally decide to make it happen.MLB- Reds
NFL- Colts

Yep, I'm the same as both of you. I think most of it is because I can't lose unless I'm in a coordinator position. I play on heisman with heisman sliders. Every year is 14-0 as an HC, even playing with teams like UAB. Maybe it's because my natural offensive style is a run first spread and it's been rare that I don't finish the season #1 in rush D and top 30 in pass D,but if I ever wanted to lose I would really have to try hard to do so. I found a perfect mesh with the sliders for realistic stats, completion rates, etc, but I'm not going to change them to where it's unrealistic just to cause a loss. I would like to experience them from time to time as it would be a nice change of pace but losing to the CPU is extremely hard and foreign to me lol. So when people have multiple loss seasons as an HC I'm always curious as to how they do it.Dude the same here. Especially because I'm better at the game now that I'm older.

Good sliders help a ton (just based on what you've written I know that you'd hate my sliders), as do good house rules. In addition to this coach mode helps a ton as well and I personally LOVE coach mode gameplay much more than actual gameplay regardless of win/loss chances and I'll never switch back (that being said, I rarely hadundefeated seasons when I played the game anyway). I'm also a run-first spread option guy.Yep, I'm the same as both of you. I think most of it is because I can't lose unless I'm in a coordinator position. I play on heisman with heisman sliders. Here are my records in 2 of my dynasties:
Michigan dynasty 1.PNGMichigan dynasty 2.PNG
coach mode 1.PNGcoach mode 2.PNG
Good sliders:
Without proper sliders you're gonna go undefeated all the time. Mine give realistic stats, but really tone down the speed of ball carriers. This gives them realistic YPC but allows my 99 SPD guys to get run down by LBs (which is something that I perfectly understand would upset most people). However, I don't see how you can get realistic YPC without crippling HBs with a 25 RBA slider). In addition to this, there are plenty of games where my opponent can effectively shut down my option attack where the correct presnap read is to run the option and my QB makes the correct postsnap read, but the D just outplays my guys and gets a TFL.
House rules:
This is equally important. I have very basic house rules on recruiting (which is basically not allowing me to take 3/3 for OPed recruiting skills and not recruit more than 70 guys and not recruit studs midseason that the CPU is ignoring) which keeps my team from always being 99/99/99 (good teams are 95 OVR and my alltime best teams are 97 OVR while teams like Ohio State are frequently 99 OVR).
I also have in game house rules which are equally important.- No hot routes except to have a HB stay in to block (almost always not to block, but just so he doesn't run a crappy route)
- Can't use the same play twice on the same drive
- No options with a mesh (read option, inverted veer, etc) on 3rd or 4th down. Options with only a pitch (speed option, load option, power option, etc) are fine
Coach Mode:
As I wrote, I don't play this to make the game harder, but because I really, REALLY prefer the playstyle (I'd never played it before '14 and I'll never go back now). That being said, my winning percentage is lower in coach mode dynasties than it is when I played the game.Favorite Teams:

I definitely appreciate the insight,
on your points.
1. My CPU sliders are pretty favorable for the CPU, other than QB accuracy, but that was only to combat crazy completion percentages and some of those crazy throws that have no business being completions.
2. Yes I would be one of those "upset" people with an LB chasing down a 99 speed Player lol, however I may tweak with that slider myself and see what works for me
3. I do have strict recruiting house rules. I also do not scout
4. Id say 98-99% of the time I follow your game house rules to a T, and I do attempt to heavily strategize based on Offensive and Defensive looks, and I try to be very multiple in terms of play calling/formations. I also don't run HB screens, like ever.
I also think that I'm going to give coach mode a try and see what happensLast edited by Maverick04; 12-28-2016, 11:24 AM.Comment

Re: We are in year 2047. What year you guys in?
Is this because it's a money play? I don't know that I've ever gotten more than 10 yards on a slip screen, probably have as many TFLs as gains on it and my positive gains probably average 3-4 yards.Favorite Teams:

Re: We are in year 2047. What year you guys in?
I usually get 15-20 yards if I run it lol if not a TD so I just refrain from running it. I'm a very patient runner and set up blocks. So yes screens to do seem to be a money play for me so I no longer run them.Comment

Re: We are in year 2047. What year you guys in?
Just throwing this out there, but have you considered applying a major shift downward in your recruiting to get the challenge level you need?
What I would suggest is treating 3* players like 5* players. For example, only allow yourself one or two 3* players per class. If that's not enough, only allow yourself one or two 2* players per class, with the rest of your players being 1 stars and/or walk ons. At some point I would think the your team would *have* to fall back down to earth. (would prob have to sim a few seasons to get to the point where your roster is filled-out with lower level talent)
I've found that limiting incoming talent is the single-most effective way to get the challenge level that's right for me. Hard to turn the corner with a halfback that's only 81 speed and low acceleration.
Seems like it would be worth a try rather than not just not playing because it's no fun because you always win (and I totally appreciate that point).

Re: We are in year 2047. What year you guys in?
I definitely appreciate the input, I do this with my smaller schools, along with only being able to recruit a certain radius, etc. However, I would have a hard time doing this with a big time school. I do have fun playing the game I just find things monotonous after 3-4 seasons. I've always been a fresh, new start type of guy as I used to do at least a 1 year dynasty with all the schools in the game each year. I'm currently not playing as much now because I finally have the editor and I am slowly doing an all time roster set (playmakers base) mainly using players from the 90s-present that's extremely fun to play with.Just throwing this out there, but have you considered applying a major shift downward in your recruiting to get the challenge level you need?

10-4, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in there.
You mentioned fresh, new starts, and I can say that the most fun I have in my dynasty are often the times when I take over a new program, that's low rated, and I have to scratch and claw, tooth and nail to get wins.
