    Pass Rush

Has anyone found an effecient way of getting a solid (consistent) pass rush with 4 man rushes? I find it very hit or miss. Do I need to slant out my DTs? pass commit? Anyone found anything consistent?

I find that faking blitz can at least cause some disruption and stop some of the double teams. I only control the DT. Some teams like the Chiefs can get alot of pressure, other teams like the Colts have a hard time.

That's something to consider... as someone who chooses to rely on the AI to get me sacks, it's a pain lol. Like I have denvers DL, so I should get sacks galore

Turning the pass blocking slider is an option but it isn't fun. Sometimes spreading out my d-line or pinching them in works once in a while.

          short answer: no.

i have a stud pass rushing unit and i'm lucky to get 2 sacks in a game when i play. doesn't matter if i control them or the AI does.

pass rush is a real issue in M17.

It seems to me that lowering pass block slider triggers the cpu to run way too much.

You have to blitz. Mix up zone blitzes, man blitzes. When you blitz also move your line around as well as their slants to overload one side(preferably the weak side). By mixing these up over the course of the game either a blitzer will get through or a d line will be able to get free and make the sack.

The fact the answer is "you have to blitz" tells me all I need to know

Basically, to be consistent, you have to break the AI...

                      Re: Pass Rush

This is too funny. Two years ago the pass rush was broke because everyone was getting too many sacks.
Some games I get zero, some games I get 7. Probably average is about 2 or 3. That's controlling the LOLB. Sometimes I control the ROLB if my left side is in pass coverage.
Time your jump, time your pass rush move, joystick left or right if the OL is leaning on you one way and get around him.

Lots of times of get hits on the QB or his pass is gone before I get there but that's football.

Sometimes I can't generate any pass rush at all against good OL. Sometimes i feel bad for the beating the other QB takes.

It's pretty bang on I find. I don't want my players beating the sack record every season

It's more just preventing the qb from having 5 seconds when he drops back. Stats work out I guess, but it's like you'll get 3 sacks one game by a player and the next you get nothing.

I agree in that I don't want my defense getting huge sacks every game or over a full season...I think a lot of the pass pressure questions stem from the wonky feel and look of pass blocking in Madden; the fact that there is little to no pocket created to force a QB to step up, and successful pass blocks are represented by the stalemate..

IMO, I think, to represent a successful pass block, for the Offensive Tackles, they should at least create an animation sequence that has the tackles leading the pass rusher(s) around the QB pocket...

An issue I see with the above situation is that you would take out 1 or 2 or your defenders who would otherwise be in a position to try and stop a scrambling QB, which seems to be a bigger threat with users...Of course this could be resolved by allowing realistic risks for injury to QB's, but EA/Dice, over the years has shown they are unwilling to allow for QB injuries on a realistic level due to the backlash....

For the Franchise users, a QB is generally evaluated by his passing ability ratings...For online players, MUT players, Drat Champions, they all seem to value the QB's with great speed and overlook a QB's passing skills; but this isn't all the users fault, because as we know, passing ratings don't mean too much, but speed, in Madden, is everything...So until EA/Dice fix the speed issue and balance the game around more realism, there will most likely never be a true pass rush and pocket forming system in a Madden game...

JJ Watt hit the open market in my franchise as a 99 OVR 33 year old with the chance to set the all time sack record. I would have loved to get in on that sweepstakes and have him set the record playing for my team. But I couldn't sign him because I knew that means he has a much lesser chance at the record. I have been trying to sim the games that I sim through play the moments so they will use my formation subs and playbook. However, I have noticed your sack numbers are way down simming in this manner. This game is so frustrating.

I have no problem with having 3 sacks one game ...0 another game and 7 in another game ....that's football .. you aren't always going to get tons of sacks and I think that "IS" realistic to see games with different amounts of sacks or none at all ...
