Seems counter intuitive to me. I wish Madden designed push button passing to be more inaccurate thus encouraging you to use the passing mechanics for better accuracy.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Patch #9 Available Now, Full Details Here
That's pretty much how it was before that October patch. If you played with the accuracy at a low enough number you would have to use the left stick in order to place accurate passes. I use to get so many complaints with my sliders from people about passing sailing everywhere on them from guys who didn't use the left stick. I had to let them know to they had to use the left stick with my sliders or raise the accuracy slider to a certain number if they didn't like to use the left stick. Now it doesn't even matter much.Comment

I agree with this but it makes sense for what they're aiming for. The casual person isn't likely going to be adept to using the left stick or all the button modifiers to place every pass where it needs to be placed. They're more likely to just snap and tap with out much concern for velocity or placement so it makes sense from their perspective to make that way the easiest to keep things "fun."Comment

To provide additional and advanced user control. It's just like the ball-carrier or receiver mechanics. Most casuals probably don't use much more than the basic moves if they're using them at all but there is another level of moves for the "advanced user." A lot of it has to do with how vital user control is to the tourney scene as well.Comment

Sounds like QB issue is still a issue and this patch didn't really do much. Sounds like a waste of a patch.Comment

While last year was the first good madden in like 10 years and this years was good to and we have gotten more patches the last 2 years. But I don't know if that is really a good thing that we are getting more patches because just about ever patch the last 2 years have madden offline play more and just about ever patch has been more MUT and left issue that should be fixed unfixed.Comment

Does it seem like a change was made to draft pick trades? I used to be able to get within +/- 10% using TDawgs & Nate's tools and the trade would be accepted. Now it seems like I need to be closer -15% to -20% in the CPU's favor for draft pick trades to be accepted.Comment

I think it follows their risk-reward model though which they've shown to embrace. The more "advanced" the input, the greater the potential reward but also attached to that is the greater risk as well. Use a precision spin move? Increased chance of faking out multiple defenders, increased chance of fumbles. Use aggressive catch? Increased chance for spectacular catch, increased chance of dropped pass. Use passing modifiers to try to throw precision pass? Increased opportunity to put the ball exactly where you want it with a higher chance of inaccuracy. I agree it doesn't make sense in all situations but it's a model that they've shown they're content to embrace and will likely be a heavy influence in future on-field features and gameplay aspects.Comment
