NBA 2K Should Introduce Pro AM Leagues

Hey whats up guys, this is BreakStarter here again and i just wanted to touch base on One of the modes i play most often, and that is the Pro Am. This mode which was introduced in 2k16 requires that once you build your myplayer up from from MyCareer, you then meet up with your friends or meet up with people you meet in Mypark and get a squad together of 5 and team up to face other teams of 5 and square off to see who's got the better squad.

In it's 2nd season, Pro Am Mode in 2k17 features even more details which allow you as a user to assemble a team with up to 10 players on your roster and customize your logo, court and jerseys, or join a pick-up game as a walk on. Level up from Amateur to Elite to get sponsors, arena upgrades.

Pro Am Mode is the Esports platform of Nba 2k and this year we have a tournament in which the grand prize is $250,000 and a trip to the nba Allstar game. This is in its own right is cool, but after playing this game mode for the second straight year, i walk away feeling like this mode could be better than its currently constructed.

    Introducing Pro Am Leagues:

Imagine users being able to host their own Myleagues with Myplayers.

allow users to experience a full 30-team league like never before. Trades, Signings, Playoffs Races: One Champion.

AllStar Games with the best performing Myplayers at halfway through the season.

Allow teams to restart matches if all team members don't make it into the match/Someone from either team gets disconnected within the first 3 minutes of the 1st quarter.

Wager VC against opposing teams based on records. The higher the record, the more VC you can wager.

Teams will progress through different tiers in Pro-Am based off rank.

Your team gets rewarded more for beating a higher ranked team compared to a lower ranked team (beating a 10-2 team vs. beating a 5-6 team)

As your team ranks up in tiers, you unlock more stuff for your arena.

As your rank up, you will gain sponsorships for your team.

Full blown leaderboard, recording individual stats for each player on each team. Can "scout" other teams.

Teams can have a maximum 20-man roster.

Each Team Can have an Owner and the owner can assign Mods to add people to the crew or delete them from the team. Mods cannot delete the team or kick the Owner/Gm off the team.

Full in game color Commentary from Kevin Harlan and the crew.

2K needs this to give those of us who arent fortunate enough to win the grand prize to at least still have a great time and keep the game fresh long after the esports tournament is over.

Tell me what you guys think?

Lets keep this thread on track and hopefully one of the devs sees this and we can get this in 2k18!

Re: NBA 2K Should Introduce Pro AM Leagues

This has been talked about for awhile. This mode would be everything. Just something as simple as some MyPlayers being selected to the All-Star Game while others get left out gets me hype. Could you imagine the competitiveness? It would be off the charts. Not even mentioning playoff series. I mean it would be ridiculous. Friendships would be lost and everything.

Man, I can go on and on about how much potential this would have. I would love this and hate this. I would hate it because now that I am much older and have so many other responsibilities it would piss me off not being able to play as much as I did when 2K11 or something was out. This mode would be the best mode ever. Madden is onto the right path w/ CFM. But they just have to allow players to play on the same teams. Hopefully 2K does this one day though.

You know this is a good idea when players suffer through the annoyance of making their own leagues, managing their own rosters and stats, and the mind numbing process of trying to force matchups by timing pro am game joins to matchup against correct team.

I havent done it this year yet but was in multiple leagues like this last year. The only thing that kept 2k16 interesting right up until 2k17.

Well if 2k sets it up correctly, I would assume teams would have schedules and set amount of time to play scheduled games on the calendar for that week. If those teams cannot meet the time required to set up those games for the week, the moderator/owner of the league would have to forfeit one team and award the owner who was readily available to play.

You could even set it up so there cash prizes and to enter in certain people's pro am leagues there would be a set amount of cash to join. I know for certain there's been many pro am leagues/rec center leagues for the past 2 years. I'm sure 2k can allocate the time to get this feature in 2k18, especially the direction eSports is going.

If not dedicated leagues, there could be a lot of servers of like 150 teams, and after like 2 weeks or something, season ends top team go to a playoffs and you have a server champion.

This would be similar to how Elder Scrolls Online PvP works...500 people on a server, 30 day continuous match earning points, moving up leaderboard...top spot get Emperor and a sick appearance.

This is def something I would be up for 100%.

                great GREAT idea....

Can you imagine if 2k spaced out the ratings of myplayers, GMs in the league getting maybe 20k VC per game to distribute and having to break it down between friends... but then that one friend thats 95 ovr gets an offer from another team for 8k vc per game.

Or if you power the game on and your friend has traded you lmfao....

Even tho I'd go with a simpler FIFA Pro-Clubs style approach... hell yeah! ProAm definitely needs a "season" mode, at least so that we get to play to win something. Right now it's either 250k or absolutely nothing.

I talked to some 2k representatives when I was in London 3 weeks ago for the European RTTASG final. Gave them some ideas I had in mind. Private pro am matchups, future esport tournaments etc...

This pro am league is a great idea and i'll definitely forward this to the 2k guys in 2 weeks when I meet them in New Orleans. I'm currently planning our 2nd season of the VBL in Europe (a pro am league for the top European teams) and its so freaking annoying to have to keep track of everything by yourself.

This pro am league mode would be absolutely dope!!

Cool idea but this has been requested so many times. I wish 2k would actually listen. I think if 2k could Just implement private matchmaking the pro-am community would be happy. The MPBA is a great Xbox league that's about to kick off once the tourney is over. Most of the top teams played in it last year and a lot of teams are already signing up for it this year. This idea would make it much easier to keep track of standings and stats although they do a superb of that already. I doubt if we see any major changes in 2k17 but hopefully we'll get new features in 2k18.

Re: NBA 2K Should Introduce Pro AM Leagues

This idea would be amazing. I would love to see a Pro-Am league happen.

30 teams, 82 games, All Star game for the group of players in the league with the best stats, playoffs and championship.

Bonus VC to those who get in the Pro-Am All Star Game, and big VC bonus to the team that wins the championship.

Team owner can spend VC for arena upgrades, free agents (human and CPU, with better AI players costing more VC per game), and distribute VC to players on the team for their salary.

Full commentary. (They did it in 2k11 so why couldn't they do it almost a decade later?)

Just build leagues by geography, 30 teams closest together get put in a league. They could even tie it to the eSports tourney where if you win the first season of your league you get free admission into the prelims for the tournament, everyone else has to pay like 10k VC per team. Gotta make it lucrative for 2k because they only care about those VC sales.

Im sure 2k has been keeping an eye on how this league has been flourishing. Not to take away from esports but once that major tournament is over, this where everyone goes to play for the next 6 months who want competition in pro am.
Wouldn't it be awesome if we had player run leagues where 2k would reward people with rep, VC and real life cash for winners of said tournaments? It would be great if mid way through each season, each league could have their own all syar games with the best players of that specific league.
This 2k pro am league can have so much potential
So long as 2k doesnt want to profit from this game mode
This needs to have a nba 2k11 crew mode feeling with an ncaa tournament style and the esport backing for this mode to be great
                          ..2k make this happen.

The 2K version of the UEFA Champions League in soccer. Multiple leagues of Pro-Am teams, each league has the champion or top 2 put into the group stage, after the group stage begins the bracket, and the winner is the ultimate champion. Leagues start once the NBA season starts, league playoffs start January or February, league All-Star Games take place right before playoffs. 2K Champions Tournament group stage starts a week after the last championship and continues until the finish. After the championship you can have like, the top players in the tournament divided into two teams for its own all-star game, and each all-star game, championship, and knockout rounds have their own VC rewards. After the championship of the tournament can be the "offseason" or whatever to get teams set for the next version of 2K.
