PES 2017 Data Pack 3 Arrives February 9, 100+ New & Updated Faces, Kits, Boots & More

Konami has just revealed details on their PES 2017 data pack 3, scheduled to arrive for free on February 9 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Data Pack 3 will feature over 100 new and updated player faces from current squads and legend players. It will also include eight classic Borussia Dortmund strips, from 1975-2012, new pitch side hoardings, new adidas ball featured in the upcoming 2016/2017 UEFA Champions League final, as well as new boots from Nike, adidas and Puma.

Also of note, PES 2017 myClub mode will be accessible in the free-to-play, PES 2017 Trial Edition.

Wouldn't taking this update wipe out any option files you have on your console? I play on the PS3 and have a nice file which contains correct kits team names emblems coaches the whole nine yards. It has Bundisliga as well as a Mexican league. I don't think you can even take this update using a different user account on your console without wiping out the file.

Love or hate PES you gotta respect Konami for these updates. You have FIFA who has entire leagues without real faces and here they are updating every couple months. Exciting stuff.

Too bad we have to take the update to be able to login in PSN and we have to login in to the PSN to be able to import/export bin files (EDIT: or any kind of picture/data). From today onward, I am keeping my system and PES game freezed (Pack 2.01) except if the community unanimously agree to say that the pack enhanced the gameplay.

a few notes from the update. not great but it's something...

The latest patch file is now available as of 09/02/2017.
The contents are as below:

Bug Fixes
<General>
・When kicking a High Pass using R2+○ (RT+B) as the goalkeeper the ball's drop point would sometimes not display.
・When the opponent takes a goal kick, sometimes your team's DMFs were positioned ahead of the opponent's FWs.
・The displayed information on opposition players and their formation, shown when Tight Marking is set in the Advanced Instructions of Game Plan, would not update even though the opponent had changed.
・A black diagonal line was seen in the match window.
・When multiple users are playing in Cup mode or League mode, if certain conditions are met, sometimes playing normally was not possible.
・When playing a VS COM match in the Team Play Lobby, the setting for the COM team's commentary team name was not updated for only the match room owner.

<Become a Legend>
・When playing in extra time of the Internationals and scoring or assisting, the stats are counted in rankings but not Career Records.

<Master League>
・When you check the Game Plan of other players, when a goalkeeper of another player is absent due to injury, you would not be able to exit the Game Plan.
・A substitute player with a Team Role that is effective towards Team Spirit enters the match but Team Spirit was not affected.
・The description of the Team Role [Maestro] was inaccurate.
・When a manager is transferred, the manager carried over their budget from their previously coached team.

<myClub>
・The formation and tactics for some managers were incorrect after the Live Update was applied.
・The formation 4-1-4-1 was displayed incorrectly when compared to the Game Plan in the Squad Management window.
・When displaying a comparison window of squad players and reserves, followed by selecting [Back] to close the window, the cursor is located at the left top of reserves.
・The message displayed when participating in myClub competitions with a team consisting of less than 18 players was difficult to understand.

・The edited hairstyle of certain players appeared incorrectly after Data Pack 2.0 was applied.

So was there any actual gameplay updates other than bug fixes?

Edit: So have managers been changing teams before?
From PES website:
"Minor adjustments have been made to a variety of modes to improve the general gaming experience."
Don't understand why they can't tell us what changes they have made.

Hopefully doesn't mess up OF's too much. Easier to fix on PC of course, but a hassle on PS4.

Cool that they added so much, but man my interest in this game fell off a cliff around the end of last year. And every time I go back to it I'm done after 1-2 games. Just lacks the spark. FIFA has it's issues, but at least it is more visually pleasing.

Team edit data should be back to normal if you re-import. Not sure about stuff that needs to be manually done like competition names/logos, etc. My guess is if those got wiped you'll need to redo them, which is the PITA part of setting up an OF.

I'm the opposite Dub. Was 3yrs into my FIFA CM and the repetitive gameplay was starting to get to me. I'm in the home stretch of my 1st year in PES and I can't get enough of it. There's so much under the hood to ML too with chemistry, player development/roles, etc...

Still a lot to improve on but it's keeping my attention better than FIFA right now.
