Your Player Nicknames

This is a "lighter side" thread for those of us who get into CFMs a little too much and start nicknaming our players.

I'm 3/4 of the way through season one in a CLE CFM after finishing up a 5 season SF run, and I've got a couple of good ones for my guys on CLE now.

If you have some good ones, chime in!

Stephen Paea: Stephen "Onomato-Paea"

Austin Pasztor: Austin "Tacos al" Pasztor

Those two are my best, but in the lesser category, I have:

Ibrahiem Campbell: "Father" Ibrahiem (had many sons)

Derrick Kindred: Derrick Kindred "Spirits"

Drafted a guy. Bruce Mann. He was a punter. Bruce "the bat" Mann. Obviously.

I have one from the Xbox/PS2 days that's probably going to sound super weird. I had a WR named Ronyell Thomas and he didn't really have a nickname but he did have an array of lyrics sung to the tune of Little Drummer Boy lol. For example:

He caught the pass, he's in the clear, Ron-Thom Thom Thom Thom
He breaks the tackle, he's on his way, Ron-Thom Thom Thom Thom
He dives, he scores, he's in for six, RON-THOM THOM THOM THOM THOM THOM THOM

In my browns franchise I have "Dirty Carl" Nassib and "Allah" Ogbah. I drafted two rbs from Georgia, one power and one scat. I call them "Tank and Flank". They lead the league in rushing despite our poor record.

Raiders CFM here are a few I have nicknamed.


WR - Lakeem “Rocker” Brockers - a second round pick after year 1 and a terrific player.

TE - Heath “Holy” Mahone - 1 of 2 first round TE’s I drafted after Year 3 he is a beast.

RB - Nate “The Great” Urshel - He was a practice squad player who was promoted in Year 2 and had a magical post season for us in our first Super Bowl run.

I think the OP for that one was intending a rhyme with the phrase "allahu akbar," which has been a news item in some circles for a while...I'll just say it that way.

Glad you chimed in, Armor! I know you take your CFMs seriously .

I like the HB, especially because of his "Rudy" storyline.

BTW, genuine 1st round TE talent is fun to accumulate. Those guys are matchup nightmares.

I have a couple more I remembered from my SF franchise. They're more literary since that's my field, but I have:

Eli Harold: Eli "Childe" Harold's "Pilgrimage" (a work by Lord Byron)

Jaquiski Tartt: Jaquiski "Tartarus of Maids" (a partial title of a Melville work)

Those are more niche items, but I was proud of them.

I have a few mostly drafted players as I'm like in season 5. I usually have a few nicknames each iteration of Madden for guys based on either their name or their play. This year the few that I have are.

The Good:
SS De'Vaughn Law aka The Law (A 6th round pick guy who earned his start after Ibrahim Campbell got injured and he just just always seems to get much needed interceptions)

HB Allen Applewhite aka PenPineappleApplePen (Dude is a 4th round beast with 90 speed, 77 strength, 88 truck but only has 78 agility which is annoying cause he can't follow his blocks very well and the song was stuck in my head so it fit)

ROLB Sean Francois aka The French Hammer (3rd round draft pick that ended up being a 99 overall by the end of his rookie season, year 2 he lead the league with 22.5 sacks and year 3 he beat his personal best by getting 24 sacks)
WR Corey Coleman aka Coletrain (also ended up a 99 overall in season 3, was AFC WR of the year 3 times in 5 seasons)

QB Frank McKee aka Tebow 2.0 (a 59 overall 5th round QB that got started because my starter got injured, has 84 speed, 86 elusiveness, 86 throw power, and awful accuracy but just somehow happens to win games)



The Bad:
RE Evander Macbath aka Evander Mcbust (1st round draft pick who never developed because he kept getting small injuries in his first 2 seasons and after that never had a decent year in sacks or tackles for loss)

QB Cody Kessler aka Cody Glassler (was my starter for the first 3 seasons but would always get injured just as we were about to go into playoffs which would usually cause us to lose in the playoffs)

QB Robert Griffen III aka RGKnee (I call him this in real life but the fact that he would often throw game losing ints especially when we were in the playoffs he obviously got called this quite a bit in my franchise lol)
