Why is it so hard to score jumpers?

I find it hard to score jumpers, even when I am like wild open, it often hits the front rim for some reason?

If you are coming up short you are releasing too late.

I find the same problem, Mids and Threes, wide open near perfect release or the meter is completly full but it is white, and my ratings are as high as i can put them as I'm a playmaking point with boosts, its pretty fustrating

It's probably your players release. Watch some youtube tutorials on how to make a good jumpshot release for your player, but the best one out there right now is probably James Harden release and High School 1 base. Another great one is Gallanari release and Tony Parker base. These could eventually be patched by 2k though because for some reason they have something against good releases and they want every release in the game to be cheesy and hard to use.

I was frustrated with this as well this weekend and was able to improve. I went in and mastered the timing of my players jump shots and also memorized their "hot spots". Once I did this I saw a dramatic increase in makes and flow of the game.

2k roster devs have admitted to patching anything and everything that is overused, because anything overused can be considered cheesy. Once the game becomes repetitive/spammy then they take it out of the game. Too many players using X player in MyTeam? Nerf that player. Too many players spamming a certain move or play/action/freelance? Nerf it. Too many players using a release/dribble move/archetype? Nerf.

That way we keep grinding and spending.

It's why players are secretive about everything in this game. They don't want it to get patched.

I've found that I'll miss most late releases on mid-range jumpers but can get pretty good shots to fall on early releases. I think late releases are graded more harshly for jumpers than early releases.

Make sure your hot spots on the court are red when you pick up a ball and walk around the court. Red hot spots are the single biggest increase in made shots and green lights that you can have in the game.

felt the same way until i started shooting with the right stick. i noticed theres a slight delay in shooting when you press square but its smooth when you use the stick.

if you're jump shooting too early into the shot clock, you're probably getting hit by the game's anti-cheese mechanism. it tends to force your shots to clank off of the front of the rim.
