Should UFC 2 Ranked Online Championship Leaderboards be Reset?

Hi Everyone,

It has almost been a full calendar year since EA SPORTS UFC 2 launched and we would like to thank all of you who have continued support and play our product. Your feedback and input is always appreciated and is something we are continuously monitoring.

Over the past few weeks we’ve heard from multiple members of our community that there is a desire to reset our Ranked Online Championship Leaderboards. Before we consider making this change, we would like to gauge the interest of our most active and core fans. We’ll be monitoring this thread over the next week, so please let us know what you think by replying with your opinion on this matter.

I don't care at all, and I play quite a bit. (not as much as bigg_cee) I'd probably defer to Cee's judgement on this.


I also want to take this opportunity to say goodbye to Cee before he goes on vacation, in case the mods give him a mini ban for posting a bunch in a row.

yes 100 percent i would like the leaderboard reset and also UT as well especially since there are so many cheaters on it.Also for the guys up the top of the leaderboard you have reached the cap so why not challenge yourself rather than having the game going stale

There's nothing to get banned about. This is a terrible idea. They wanted feedback from core members and I'm one of them to the fullest. I have a total of 6 copies of UFC 1 n 2 combined. I've been in the top 100 in both UFC 1 and 2 and I love this game with a passion.

They did it for UFC 1 which was fine but UFC 2 there's no need. The community is thriving and we have tons of new faces in the top 100. Like I said it's so easy to get in the top 100, the real work is getting in the top 20.

I'm not trying to be an A-Hole but I really don't like this idea. If it happens then I'll still grind myself back into the top 100 but there's no need for that. Just too much time and effort from top guys put into this game. It feels like a punshiment for playing UFC 2 to much.

This just sucks and now I'm truly sad!!!

There is no point in resetting a leaderboard that is based mostly off of how much you play as opposed to how good you are. All it will do is show who plays the most in the next few months while stripping away the very framework to which it is based. It's pointless unless something is revamped.

They have weekly rankings, a lot of dudes make new accounts every week to try and be at top of those. That's good enough for me.


That said if they did reset leaderboards I could see Bigg_Cee being number 1 or 2 if he took advantage to completely maximize points earned.

OMG if they do this match making is going to be a freaking mess of noobs and skilled players all in the same divisions. Then once you get top guys who reach division 8 your going to have that "waiting to find opponent" and never getting matched up.

I'm going to have nightmares tonight about this scenario.

Please EA any info you need about online just ask me. I've seen it all. lol

One last thing...

Since the game has been out for close to a year, you finally have people using different fighters and not just champs or top guys. Sure it still happens a lot but once this reset happens, everyone is going to flood this game again with the same fighters doing the same cheap combos over and over.

There's so much to think about EA when doing these massive leaderboard resets. It sounds simple but can ruin the flow ranked championships has now. I enjoy using Jim Miller against Sage Northcutt or using Ray Borg against Sergio Pettis, but man are those matchups now going to go away when people fight and do some of the dirtiest stuff in the books.

I really don't want that nasty launch day experience. That's for UFC 3 to have.

I'm now officially done. Whatever happens, happens.

Big cee is right, what is good now is there are a lot of players in Div4/5/6/7/8 and if there is a reset, it will be difficult to find a player or we will meet always the same.
But what we want if you can is to revise the point system in ranked.
Give more points for inferior division win over superior division.
Loose more points for superior division loose against inferior division.
Give more points for inferior OVR fighter win over superior OVR fighter.
Loose more points for superior OVR fighter loose against inferior OVR fighter.
Like this, we will see players choose between play for their W/L ratio or the leaderboard.
Best players are those who combine the 2.( W/L ratio and Low rated fighters)

Wipe the Xbox leaderboards then. I guess Cee cares more about having his precious stats saved than bringing competition back to a dying game.

I asked the top 10 on xbox, who have MORE games played than PS4 top 10 and ALL of them said they were fine with a reset. They understand the bigger picture.

Your right, PS4 has an influx of new players as you said. Why not give them the opportunity to get into the top? They could play 50 matches every day and win every single one and not get into the top 10 for a LONG time.

You have people in the top 25 who do not even play anymore (on both comsoles) but they are so far ahead that they can literally sit on their leaderboard standing.
