Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Franchise Mode Tour (Gamespot)
I did hear Russel say front office a few times during the video but i'm really hoping that he just misspoke. If not I really don't know what the front office part would be because on the screen it says launch pad in the bottom right while selecting how you want to play.Comment

In response to complete games, you should be seeing no more than 10 total per month (about 60 per season) total through all of MLB. This has been an issue for years, unfortunately.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

Unless he misspoke, at 9:28 he says "...giving you different ways to be involved in franchise mode and play more games without having to spend a lot of time..people don't wanna sim they wanna be involved and that's what critical situations and franchise front office allows you to do."
Launch pad is just the screen itself, the entire package they are calling franchise front office.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Franchise Mode Tour (Gamespot)
When I have the time I prefer to play the entire 9 innings on Broadcast presentation which on average takes me about 2 hours to complete my games. But I do feel somewhat disconnected from what is going on around the league when I just do the instant simming of all the other games in the league for a given day. It appears that "Quick Manage" will be an interesting way to observe the play from all the other games and get a feel for who is doing well and who is in a slump. Assuming it's still in the game, the Sportscast Manager also does this, but it takes about 10 minutes to play each game as each pitch is simmed. The "Quick Manager" games only sims an individual plate appearance, not each pitch. So it should be faster. I hope the "Quick Manager" feature is also available in Season modes, not just the Franchise mode.Unless he misspoke, at 9:28 he says "...giving you different ways to be involved in franchise mode and play more games without having to spend a lot of time..people don't wanna sim they wanna be involved and that's what critical situations and franchise front office allows you to do."Comment

I believe it was raining in the new Cubs bullpen under the stands. But maybe it's so realistic and the stands are actually leaking ☺

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I want to go back and watch both this video and the game informer video and count how many times Ramone says "Ohhh I thought I had that one."😂😂 Game is looking fantastic!

This is why I'm hoping with quick manage we can control both teams (30 team control franchise) to help combat this issue. Sim the game until the 6th inning and then Quick Manage the rest of the way.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Franchise Mode Tour (Gamespot)
In quick manage, does anyone see where the pitch count might be located?
I know I'm the game informer video he jumped into the game and Tillman was up over 115 pitches and he commented that he had ran into that problem a few times.
I don't see anywhere where the pitch count is located. That will make it hard to manage my bullpen.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Franchise Mode Tour (Gamespot)
Not a huge deal for me but I have noticed the cpu seems willing to leave the starting pitcher in when leading and sometime the pitcher gets to a very high pitch count which wouldn't happen IRL.
I'm guessing it's programmed that way to save the bullpen. It seems whatever penalty there is for the pitcher getting low on energy is offset by high pitcher confidence.
I liked a couple of the hits in that video. The game looks great.≡Comment

More could be revealed in the live stream. For example I saw an option "contracts". Perhaps in season contract negotiations have been added. There is also something labeled "missions". I'm not a fan of it but that's an addition to the mode. They haven't denied create-a-team etc yet either.
Remember the red flashing lights in previous deep dives. They are saving something for the twitch deep dive. They didn't spend $20 at walmart on red flashing lights for no reason.≡Comment
