THE RETURN. - A Chargers Madden NFL Franchise

    INTRODUCTION

Hello! Welcome to my first dynasty in 2 years, I have been super busy with life, school and work, and just typical everyday things, but so many of them that I had to give this up. I had a really big penchant for the Oakland Raiders and still do this very day, but I do not plan on doing a dynasty with them, because there is one franchise that is just as storied as Oakland, and that's the Chargers. Great team, great legends, great fanbase. No ring. That's the kind of thing that can haunt players and coaches alike, even more so for players. So, my goal here is simple. Take the Chargers, no matter what city, and give them a ring

    FRANCHISE GUIDELINES

So, this is coming with a twist. This will be a fantasy draft team, and this series will last until I win a superbowl, but I will not try to be going for it all in one or two seasons, if that happens, so be it as unlucky as it will be. I will not be drafting a retirement home, but I will not turn down a vet good at his job. I will be hand-drafting all 54 rounds of this draft, so that the team can be built to my specifications, I cannot wait to present them to you when the time comes. I also choose to move the Chargers out from San Diego and move them into Los Angeles, as I support the real-life Charger's decision to move into a city that would want them, since the Chargers are still actually at least a low-tier playoff team with the right coaching as we've seen before.

    RULES

    Difficulty: All-Madden
    Sliders: Jarrod21
    Quarter Length: 10 minutes
    Injuries: On
Pre-Existing Injuries: Off (so that if someone like Gronk is selected, he isn't redundant.)
    Coach Mode: Off

    UNVEILING THE ROSTER

Thank you for joining me yet again! I've finished up the fantasy draft and was trying to work up an artistic way to try and display this but also a bit simplistic but I think I've found a way, so without further ado, let's get into it, but I would love to note that this is for position groups that I feel have a chance to stand out for our team. I will also create a 53 man depth chart for each team we face so you guys can see what kind of teams were assembled around the league.

    CORNERBACKS

Starting Cornerbacks: Jalen Ramsey(#1) and James Bradberry (#2)
Bench Cornerbacks: Eric Rowe(#3) and Mackenzie Alexander(#4) and Dee Millner (#5)

    Starter(s) Grade: A
    Bench Grade: C+

Analysis: Many NFL executives that the Chargers drafted themselves into the playoffs, and judging off of this group, I would be mildly amenable to the concept, as the Chargers have themselves a potential superstar corner to replace Jason Verett and a solid #2 fiddle in zone coverage specialist, James Bradberry, a 6'1' corner with good speed and above average awareness for a rookie, in a numerical scale, scouts graded Bradberry with 79 man coverage and 84 zone, making him a semi balanced prospect with hope to improve. The bench corners are actually pretty decent, Rowe and Alexander are 23 and 22 respectively, with Alexander ALSO being a rookie. It's good to know that the Chargers aren't afraid to take chances on players, that especially goes for Dee Millner who is a long shot to make the 53 man roster but can if the team knows his effort is there.

    OFFENSIVE LINE

Starting Offensive Line: Marshal Yanda(LT), Andrew Norwell(LG), David DeCastro(C), Kevin Zeitler(RG), Zach Martin(RT)
Bench Offensive Line: Ty Nsekhe(LT), Lance Louis(LG), Joe Berger(C), Matt Slauson(RG), Jamon Meredith(RT)

    Starting Grade: A+*
    Bench Grade: C+a

Analysis: (Author's note, I have toned down some of the ratings for all my lineman due to them being big names and some of them being out of position, whilst I have zero doubts that Martin and Yanda can be top-tier tackles, it will also be a bit cheesy, I am also going to do my best to crank up pass-rushing to compensate as a result.)
The Chargers are on pace to win the draft, following the Cowboy's formula of drafting and developing a great offensive line, but I will say this, the Chargers depth is mildly disappointing, the only stand out O-linemen on the bench being Joe Berger and Matt Slauson, two vets who could be on the verge of retiring so we'll have to see how the Bolts sub out their lineman

    LINEBACKER CORP

    Starting Linebackers: Erik Walden(LOLB), Don'ta Hightower(ILB), Reggie Ragland(ILB), Leonard Floyd(ROLB)
Bench Linebackers: Kevin Dodd(LOLB), DeMeco Ryans(ILB), Joe Thomas(ILB), Robert Mathis(ROLB)

    Starter(s) Grade: A+
    Bench Grade: A

Analysis: This linebacker corp needs to be regarded as one of the best in the NFL, aside from the Patriots corp of Dee Ford, Luke Kuechly, Christian Kirksey and Thomas Davis Sr. or the Ravens lineup of Vic Beasley, Bobby Wagner, Wesley Woodyard and Trent Murphy. This corp is good at everything, the Chargers are trusting Walden and Floyd to make plays rushing the QB, with Hightower occasionally pitching in on pass rushing and zone coverage and Ragland picks up the slack regarding coverage and run stopping, it's for sure that the Chargers defense can definitely stand to be one of the best, the depth for this corp is amazing too, Kevin Dodd is standing to take over Erik Walden's place in the lineup as DeMeco Ryans and Robert Mathis temper the second unit defense with their veteran leadership.

    WIDE RECIEVERS

Starting Wide Receivers: Martavis Bryant(#1), Chris Hogan(#2?), Josh Doctson(#3)
    Bench Wide Receivers: Malcolm Mitchell(#4), Braxton Miller(#5), De'Anthony Thomas(#6)

    Starter(s) Grade: B
    Bench Grade: B

Analysis: The Chargers are doing a fantastic job of surrounding their yet to be unveiled QB. Martavis Bryant and Chris Hogan are a sleeper 2000 yard receiving duo, Bryant's ability to stretch the field and Hogan's route running bring two elements to Mike McCoy's offense that he hasn't had the pleasure of working with, Keenan Allen being a combo of both of these players, Allen now playing for the Chicago Bears, having Josh Doctson in the slot never hurts either, the depth for their WR corp is great as well, having 3 rookies on the bottom half of the chart never hurt, the Chargers do have to hope that they can find a stabilizing veteran presence to calm them when the season gets tough.

    HALFBACKS

    Starter: Ezekiel Elliott
Bench: Matt Forte, Chris Johnson, Brandon Bolden

    Starter(s) Grade: A+
    Bench Grade: A

Analysis: The Chargers realize the importance of a run game, which is why they took Elliot in the 3rd round in the draft, the first two being Jalen Ramsey and Don'ta Hightower. A run game can be a vital difference between a good team and a Super Bowl contender, the formula has been proven for awhile now, the Patriots (x2), the Broncos and Seahawks. The last 4 superbowl winners were known for good defense and a decent run game at the least. The Patriots are the obvious exceptions for obvious reasons, although please include LeGarrette Blount's 18 TDs and the Pats #1 scoring defense but enough about other teams. Elliot is a superstar HB right now, with even more room to grow his skillset, and the Chargers have surrounded him with a wealth of veteran talent to tap into, with Matt Forte and Chris Johnson able to be easy to tap into teachers.

That should about cover it! I can't wait to unveil our quarterback and step into our Week One matchup vs the Kansas City Chiefs.

CHARGERS UNVEIL STARTING QUARTERBACK AND REST OF 53 MAN ROSTER

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- In what many consider a surprise, the San Diego Chargers have unveiled that they selected Tyrod Taylor for their quarterback in the secretive redraft of the league, whilst the secretive nature of the draft was condemned by many, it is creating alot of mystique coming into this 2016-2017 season, many wonder if the New England Patriots will still be on top, or will the Browns still be a longstanding icon as the worst known sports franchise. Although, having Taylor at QB for the Chargers should make for an exciting offense, with Ezekiel Elliot and Martavis Bryant as two of his many weapons at his disposal, he should feel right at home in San Diego.

Let's go ahead and unveil the rest of the 53 man roster and where they will be starting for Week 1.

In an interesting matchup, Ezekiel Elliot and the Chargers offensive line takes on a definitely fiery defense with Justin Houston and Bruce Irvin on pass rushing duty and Xavier Rhodes and Jamar Taylor roving the secondary, it will be interesting to see how head coach Mike McCoy and QB Tyrod Taylor tackle what should be an interesting trench battle.
