Re: R.B.I. Baseball 17 Cover Athlete is Corey Seager - Arrives This Spring

Bought the IOS version yesterday. Have only played one game so far. Gameplay feels a little better. I felt like 16's hitting was too difficult - you (and the CPU) had to make perfect contact to hit anything with authority. I noticed a new animation where a guy dove and deflected the ball and then got up and tried to throw out the runner.
The negatives were that the sound only works through your earpiece and there was some stuttering in the later innings. I'm assuming that stuff will be fixed in a patch.
As a mobile game, it's fine. I'm almost glad they didn't release it on PC because I would've been tempted to buy it just to have the latest rosters and because the gameplay seems improved, though I know I would eventually get bored with the simplicity. Can't wait for Super Mega Baseball 2 this summer.

As a $5 mobile game, it gets my purchase every year. It's a fun time waster and great for the airport/on a plane.

IF this game had a behind the pitcher cam id be all over it.

last one I got was rbi 15 I skipped last yrs and this yrs looks good its just limited

ONE single behind the back pitching cam would have synched it for me

But that's not how RBI baseball is played. The behind the batter view is how RBI baseball is played.

To each his own. Gaming on my phone is just for a few minutes unexpectedly waiting somewhere. When I know there will be play time on the road (like when travelling) I always have my Vita with me. The versions may not be new, but I'll take slightly aged versions of The Show (15) or Madden (13) over anything current on a phone. For me, sports gaming just cannot be done on a phone. It is the difference between passing time and "gaming." And RBI on a phone does not sound anywhere near the gaming experience of The Show 15 on my Vita. Life is too short for substandard gaming!

I've enjoyed the past several years of this game. I just don't have time for more sim baseball like The Show, even though I've bought the last several years of that game as well. But I'm disappointed to see that it doesn't look like they've added anything to this year's game. I was hoping for an online season mode this year. Being able to replicate what my buddies and I did on the NES way back with RBI 2, but online instead of with paper and pencil, would be awesome.

I have never played RBI baseball.

I know it has a season mode, but can you go on for more than 1 year? Or do you have to start over after each one?

Also, is their any customization options?

                Thanks!

I'm not sure about this year's release but last year's the answers would be no to both questions.

Edit: Actually, their main game page says "Track your season stats by team, player and league leaders across multiple seasons." So that would lead me to believe you CAN play multiple seasons this year.

I'd love some more info on that, if anyone knows!

I did. It's ok. I think it's better than last years. I've noticed that the CPU will steal on you now and will sub pitchers in when they come up to bat and behind. Haven't seen the CPU bunt though. I simmed a season (there is no franchise mode) and stats do carry over however, the schedule just repeats for the following year. There is no trades that I've seen during the season and you can't move players to and from other teams even outside the season mode.

I've seen some graphical glitches here and there but I didn't think they were major.

It's exactly as advertised, a quick pick up and play baseball game that is not trying to be sim like The Show. I've had fun with it.

Oh iPhone like I do every year. Well worth the $5. Lots of fun for some quick Baseball on the go. The simple controls work well on a touch screen and having fully licensed teams and ballparks is a nice touch.

I have it for the Xbox one. It's not bad but it is what it is. I Am tempted everyday to buy a PS4 just for the show but I just can't bring myself to do it. I am holding out hope for super mega to be that sim game I can fully customize. I love baseball so I have to learn to love RBI
