Don't buy 50 pack bundles...

So yeah I decided to buy one on the first day to just fill out my collections. That one went okish. Got maybe 3 golds out of it and plenty of doubles to flip for some more packs. I'm not buying players until the market settles down. With the stubs I made back I bought a 10 pack and some flashback packs. Got a couple golds and a diamond equipment that I sold for 50k+. So I figured I'd buy another 50 bundle. Opened all of them and outside of a couple gold equipment not one gold player and obviously no diamond players while a few of my friends who have been buying 10 packs have a couple diamond players. Is it just me or are the odds for the 50 bundle worse. Or are odds of diamond and even golds lower this year

I never pulled one diamond player in 16 and trust me I opened up a few hundred packs in that game. It's all just frustrating luck, which I had absolutely none of. Haven't received my copy of this years show yet so I'm hoping the tables turn.

Packs are always poor value

The only upside now is that there's a lot of demand for garbage cards as people try to fill sets so even the <60 OVR cards can fetch 150-200 on the market. The actual time it takes to list them 20 at a time is probably worth something in time value though...

Packs are like lottery tickets. The odds are really crappy but they always give you hope that just maybe you can hit the jackpot.


I doubt the bundle packs have any different odds as they are simply made up of standard packs. It is all just the luck of the draw. Some people will open a single pack and find a diamond and others will open hundreds and never find any.

I didnt get a diamond player from the 30 pack bundle i pre-orderd. Then i bought a 20 pack bundle, and didnt get diamond or any gold players. Just ****ty equipment. I got raped on the cards, so im done buying those bundles this year..

I don't think the bundles have different odds, in pretty sure it's just tied to the pack itself. They just got lucky. I bought all kids of pack combos in 16 and never pulled a Diamond player(4 equipment)

Weird that 50 packs only give you 7 guaranteed silver or better. It's the same deal if you buy 2 20's and a 10.

Agree I bought the $99.99 pre order digital deluxe and ended up with what I consider far less than the $200 value they claim with this bundle. To make it worse I bought the 50 pack bundle and the 5 flashback bundle. So out out of the 90 plus packs Gerrit Cole was my best player and Diamond Leg Guards catchers gear was my best equipment pull. I guess it's a total crap shoot. I did get some Rookies and decent flashbacks but nothing earth shattering. I'm just glad the servers are better.

It takes a month or two. SDS pre-order deals have flooded the market with cards and stubs, plus the streamers are spending money on packs like crazy to further dilute the market. You'll want to keep checking but realistically things will be settlted down around mid-May as some players become diamonds and others fall back being golds. Guys like Harper who are 90 diamonds could easily be 89 golds if they get off to a slow start and 89 guys like David Price could easily be Diamonds with a strong first month.

Alright sounds good , I'm 3 and 4 short respectively from completing the Yankees and the Nats 40 mans .

My other question is , when the season stats and inside edge becomes effective , how long does it usually take for cards to see upgrades or downgrades ? Weekly?

Got bored at work and bought a pack online, pulled Osuna, Longoria and Daniel Murphy. Haven't pulled a gold or above player in the other 120-ish packs I've opened between pre-order and selling crap guys to get stubs back. Should've taken a screenshot.

in 16 i got maybe 4 diamonds in 300ish packs?
among them were trout and kershaw.

but i know i got quite lucky.

I think the system is great, if everyone got gold and diamonds semi regularly DD would be dumb. It's only been out for couple days relax, they can't flood the market place so everyone and their grandma has mike trout. It's suppose to be extremely difficult to get those cards
