    Retired Players

Hey guys I had a couple questions regarding retired players still in the game, i.e. Chris Pronger, Tomas Kaberle, Pavel Datsyuk (essentially), Craig Cunningham. I had seen a previous thread on here that recommended moving these guys to International teams like Japan or Great Britain because it removes them from the Be A GM roster. I was wondering if I do this can these players still retire? Or do they just not exist in the Be a GM world? I want to have somewhat accurate retirements at the end of the season in the player retirement screen just so these guys don't somehow reappear later on in my Be a GM in a glitch.

I was also curious whether or not there is a way to stop guys from retiring? Zdeno Chara is under contract until the 2018 offseason and he retires every time after 1 season in NHL 17. Is there anything I can do to keep my Captain until at least the end of his contract?

Thank you so much for any help in advance

    Re: Retired Players

I do not know of a way to stop a player from retiring.

    re: Moving Retired Players:

Don't just move a "retired" player to an international team, make them a free agent first. If you move them, they are technically still under contract with the team they are moved from, and will show up on that team in your Franchise, BaP, Season Mode, etc. When you move them to free agency, it clears them from being "under contract".

I think if you use the roster editor, the entire player/contract is moved, regardless of where you move them.

That said, if you do drop them to free agency, edit their stats to all minimum, otherwise you'll have teams signing Datsyuk to fill their Center spot.
