    Your best build and why.

Alright 2K community, we are getting to the 4th quarter of NBA2k17 and September/October is quickly approaching for NBA2k18 where we are anxiously awaiting further details on archetypes, parks, etc.

With that being said, its safe to say that majority of this community regularly, like myself, gets mixed feelings on our builds. One week we make that 6'4 Shot Creator whos a "gawd" for several games then get disgusted with the lack of.... or we make that 7'3 Glass Cleaner who dominates the boards but you get bored with after several games because of the lack of excitement of splashing 3s consistently while your cleaning up others misses.

So give me your go-to build. Give me your ride-or-die build with details of weight, height, key ratings, maybe some tweaks you made that you think puts your build over everyone else's. And why you think this build is the best.

For those thinking well hell why would I give my secret build out?! I don't want you copying me?! I'm a dribbling god... well this thread may not be for you.

Personally, I found the best build that works for me with a combination of inside scoring, mid-range, decent speed (for my position), and rebounding&defense is my 6'11 265lb Glass Cleaner. Has about 60 speed which compared to most big centers I face is way faster by like 10-15 speed rating. My vertical helps clear the gap between height without about 15-20 vertical rating over anyone over 7'0. Recently found a default jump shot that I can even hit about 1/3 3 pointers in MyPark.

go lets hear it 2k community.

Re: Your best build and why.

I'm always drawn to the all-around perimeter builds.

My 6ft6 220 Playmaker PG is my OG alpha build.

I'm working on another Playmaker G that will have less weight and will benefit from higher lateral quickness as a result of the lower weight. The current one is very sluggish on defense and not as swift and agile as I would appreciate on defense.

The Point Forward who is between 6ft7 and 6ft10 would also be a great fit for me but I haven't tried a Point Forward.

I started with a playmaking 6'3" PG and he was awesome. Then decided to checkout sharpshooting with a 6'7" SG and that was nice but I didn't like not being a primary ball handler and having to work off the ball so much.

SO my current build about 25 games in is a 6'7" point forward. Really wish I had went with this build from day one. Still plenty fast and I can bang up down inside a lot better. Don't seem to get snuffed going to the cup quite as much. Plus it is a lot easier to get a step on a forward driving inside than it is a PG.

Lookout Oscar I am coming for your triple double crown.

My best Build has to be my 6'7'' Point Playmaker with min. weight and max. wingspan.

I did average a triple double for the entire season on hall of fame with this dude, he's just incredible.

I only made 2 players this year 6'10 stretch PF and 6'9 SF/PF LDD.

Knowing what I know now I would have made the following players.

SG/SF 6'7 LDD lowest weight max wings
PF 6'10 Athletic finisher around 250 weight max wing
SG/SF 6'6 Sharpshooter lowest weight max wing
SF 6'8 Pointfoward lowest weight max wing

My favorite has been my 6'11 post scorer PF. Second behind him is my 6'11 athletic finisher.

I've been thinking about a post scorer . What are the pros and Cons ? Do you missed the speed ? What about defense ?

Re: Your best build and why.

This isn't limited to a specific archetype but after fiddling around with some settings I found that any 6'11 C build that weighs 280 lbs and has max wingspan and shoulder length is really good.

They have enough speed and vertical to get up and down the court and jump high enough to get boards(even on 7'3 Cs).

They get better dunking/layup ratings than taller centers.

And with the added weight you max out the strength rating on every build. I think strength is the most underrated attribute this year. It affects so much.

I scrapped my 7'1 Stretch after I found out how much better I played with a 6'11 Stretch Center. I get more boards, I'm much better on defense, and he finishes so much better around the rim.

I can't wait til I max my post scorer so I can use his 94 strength to bully everyone in the paint. Got a glass cleaner on hold too. I wish I would have started these builds at launch

Re: Your best build and why.

Got around 10 players, 4-5 badged up ones.

Got a playmaker 6'4 and a point forward 6'9. Not perfectly pleased with both of them, although they are both pretty good. The 6'9 in the park and 6'4 is a great playmaker for pro am.

With the knowledge I have now, it would have been a 6'8! The 6'9 lacks a bit ballhandling ability to run the offense in pro am, thanks to missing 2 points ballcontrol for speedboost. And the small one, well, he's really nice. But I don't like to be that small ( tho I made him exact my reallife measures being 6'4 with max wingspan xD - yeah I really got the exact max wingspan in reallife xD )

SF 6'9 Sharpshooter. Good player asset for pro am. Playable in Park, but too slow for playing the 1, too small and weak to defend real centers ( I mean guys with way positive records who really know how to abuse things). So he's not really a good fit for 2v2's. Maybe a good fit for the 2spot in 3v3, but I a pro-am and 2v2 guy.
Pro am fits best to him. He's an insane shooter and good zone defender. Tall enough to drive and get some easy ones if the situation fits. But for me, it's too much of a roleplayer.

Got a between 7'1 and 7'2 Post scorer ( 217 cm european sizes)
BEAST! NO one can stop me one on one offensively.. Not really slow thanks to his size.
Lacks in defense due to his size. No comparison to a 7'3, even is if its just 4 cm size. He's perfect, but unfortunately not 7'3

These 4 were my players for nearly the whole year.

Also have 6'6 Shotcreator -> no comparison to the above ones. Really wanted to make him work, but no chane. Sharp and playmaker are more effective at the SF position.

6'10 Slasher -> Trash - maxed out badges and everything. But this guy is my worst player I'd say.
6'7 LDD -> not finished, but his bad blocking ability drove me crazy and I could not continue grinding him any more.
7'2 Glass -> if he'd be 7'3 then maybe. 7'2.. my postscorer is better.

And now my final player I started some weeks ago.
7'3 Stretch big. With all the knowledge I know had of what's working and what is not.

7'3 - 300lbs. Maxed Post Game, left middy to 75 ( got some bars left to get it to 80) and offdribble untouched.
Strenght maxes at 73. He's slow yes. But this guy is a much better defender due to his size. The 7'2 glass and and Post scorer can't even compare to him! It's nearly sad how I wasted my time on the other centers. Blocking ability is insane with 7'3. It's easier to guard up speedboosting guards due to this little bit more of size. It's easier to do everything.
Greenlighting hooks all day. And this is not an exaggeration. I can green light EVERY hook I take, as long I got the position without pushing him down for more then 3 seconds.
He's shoots better hooks then my post scorer, dropsteps near the same as him, only the spin is not possible like on the post scorer.

I play him like a post scorer most of the time when we meet really strong opponents in 2v2s, who know how to switch on me in pick and pop situations, or if my friend can't get the job done with his playmaker due to good defense.

I'm not afraid to play the post with him, because it's really green light all the time. Even against 7'3 PP or GC.

Tl:dr ... Got too many players. I'm stupid for always fighting against the 7'3 train, just to make a 7'3 player a few weeks ago, and instantly see how he's just miles better then 7'1 or 7'2.

                  Ranking would be:
                  1. Stretch big 7'3
                  2. Playmaker 6'4
                  3. Post Scorer 7'1-2
                  4. Point forward 6'9
                  5. Sharpshooter 6'9
                  --------------------------
Rest of them I just can't get good words for =)

What type of guy you want to be? Post scorer is really nice, but the size will hurt your hooks and fades. You'll still make a good clip of them, but you won't feel superior.
Spinning and dropstepping against taller players will still be pretty hard due to their wider bodies.
You will eat every dude smaller then you alive, but the taller guys will make you trouble.
I was always a big fan of all these 6'9 - 7'1 size. But honestly for me it's clear now.
Want to be a real machine in the post? Go 7'3.
If you want to run the courts you can be shorter, but it will hurt your post game more then you'll expect.
Defending 7'3s with 6'9-11 is possible. But just not as effective as you were taller.
Blocking ability is bad in comparison to a taller guy.

If you haven't got a 7'3 player, I'd suggest you doing one! If you are a 7'3 post scorer, no one can stop you, but yourself! Hooks are unstoppable. You just have to find the right one you can green.

If you want to stay short, don't go for the post scorer.

(( got a 6'9 post scorer too, forgot to mention ))

My post scorer is probably my favorite to use, but my 6'7 SF Sharpshooter is probably my most versatile and team-effective player.

Ok. Thanks for being specific. My best offline build is a 7'0 C Stretch Big. Focused on passing and rebounds, but always reliable when scoring is required. It keeps the game close on the sadistic HOF but there's always that chance I could win.
