Right now Live just needs to fined a way to gain fans and be relevant, which can be done in a number of ways. They can take advantage of what people dislike about 2K and make them a strength (better online experience, more control and freedom, better stadium atmosphere, etc). They could add a mode that is essentially NBA Street, since it seems like they won't make an actually new NBA Street game. I know I'd buy Live day one if there was an Arcade type mode that was essentially a modern version of Street. Or simply sell the game at launch for cheaper ($40-$45). I'm sure there would be a lot of people willing to buy Live instead of 2k for a cheaper price or atleast buy Live as well as 2k. This is what 2k did way back for their 2k5 games and it worked. I'd go as far as to say that's part of the reason 2k was able to become so popular. People that normally didn't buy 2k games had a cheap way to fully experience 2k and it opened there eyes to a new experience.

That's an unrealistic expectation though. Yeah they should strive to compete with 2k but since Live 10 they've struggled to release a game that belongs on the same court as 2k, let alone being a better game. They should want to be like 2K in terms of being a good/great basketball sim, assuming that's the goal of Live, but Live needs its own identity as well. Something that makes Live different from 2k.

Selling the game cheaper would make EA the biggest hypocrites of our gaming generation. The one key aspect of them influencing the NFL to go the exclusive route was this, therefore they have put themselves in a corner with their lackluster NBA franchise. Honestly I don't feel sorry for them nor do I feel that I should support their product until they deliver what the competition has failed to deliver, which honestly is not much, 2K has brought their A game every, despite drop offs here and there. That's an unrealistic expectation though. whats what he said have to do with America? Is this some new thing people say now?
anyway... he's actually right. People should be held accountable. If you don't hold them accountable, you'll end up with the same crap product year after ye... oh wait.Comment

no this new stuff is wanting peoples' lively-hood taken cause your "opinion" doesn't match your idea of progress in something you had no hand in progressing. AND all this from a trailer of sorts in the month of MAY!! ....MAY!!

It is good that they took time off to try and right what was a very wonky game. Even still thought NBA2k looks better. I am interested in seeing how it plays.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 Videos Released
Stick skills matter this year. Who you're using matters as well. The offense/defense system is really slick. I hope there is some info coming at EA play about it so I can talk about it.Live 16 had its flaws . Defense especially in the paint needed much improvement . Animations looked weird . I liked the graphics and they look even better here.
One thing for me that I've felt even in ,live 15 , was that player knowledge and stick skills matter more in live. That's my opinion though.
New dribbling system, new defensive system, and one of my favorite parts, new signature style tech.. Once it's talked about and I can go into more depth about it, you all will see why I'm excited about it. Lastly, the in the paint physicality will help this game. There's some really nice tech in the game this year which will lead to some very nice battles.I can't find it but from what a few youtubers said they were told by the people at EA, they claimed that there's an all new dribbling system that you have all the control in. To counter that ,the defense has this timing system where if you time your moves right (I think they're alluding to the angles), you can negate the offenses dribbling moves
They also said they reworked the post and that there much more moves. Emphasis on size and strength as a factor in the post
Something to do with signature moves for players. That's probably for the bigger names. If most or all of the big names have signature moves that would be cool
That's about all I can remember them claiming
There's some animation carryover, which I don't like, but they're replacing them.Twitter - WTF_OS

I can dig what your saying, but sometimes change is necessary. And I don't think anyone is making any definitive proclamation in May, dude said if.Comment

Pretty sure this is someone who as seen and played the game, a 30sec clip only says so much about a game that goes on for about 20min, so I'm pretty the build that will probably be played at EA plays still won't be the final build but I hope it does nothing less than impress. Just send my copy already EA

Re: NBA Live 18 Videos Released
Called entitlement. Been around since the old america. Nothing new.
16 wasnt horrible it just wasnt 2k. The game as of today is almost decent with the right slider tweaks.
Cant finish a full game(both games feel like a chore) but spacing in live brings me back.
Im not expecting miracles, but improve the low post and on ball defense and im good.Comment

This is enticing. If all this is implemented right, this sounds like I'll really like this game.

Re: NBA Live 18 Videos Released
The new tech you mentioned sounds good and intriguing, but unless the animation carryover is taken care of like you said it will be then this game is due for another letdown. Buyers in this niche of gaming are vain as crap and they want to see basketball games animate as close as they can to the real thing. Unfortunately EA has not been able to put things together and figure out this ongoing issue of making this game animate properly. They have had all the time in the world to deliver a satisfying project, so excuses need to be put tp the way side. We don't want to see apology letters, 3 year plans, and delays any more. All we want to see now is them making huge strides with issues that have held them back in the past and not allowed this game to be received well. I'm going to hold my judgment until more footage is revealed, but I did not like what I saw with that short reveal. Anyways we are going to get alot of unbiased impressions about this game from people who attend the EA event in Cali, and not You tube influencers who have everything to gain.Stick skills matter this year. Re: NBA Live VLOG
yup just as i thought. still with this stiff movement. why on why they cant make this animation move more fluid. this is so dissapointing i thought there is another choice this year. i guesswill be stuck in 2k for the rest of the year or at least if someone in EA can figure it out.
and yes that graphics is bad. you dont need to admit it but you dont need to lie to yourself either.Comment
