Diamond Dynasty Update: New Wade Boggs Player Epic Mission

Diamond Dynasty received a roster update, two new packs, a new Player Epic mission, new cards in the Ticket Store and a new Collect mission today.

The new Player Epic mission revolves around Rookie Wade Boggs (79 overall), and he has a better chance of being found in the limited edition Ballin Is A Habit pack (15K Stubs). The Ballin pack also has a greater chance at Diamonds and Golds, but there is no percentage listed in terms of how it correlates to regular packs. I personally opened one pack and got a Joey Votto and Dallas Keuchel, but obviously that should not sway you one way or the other. The other pack released is the usual Bases Loaded pack. This one is limited to three per person and costs 5,000 Stubs per pack. You will get a guaranteed Camo equipment item in the pack, and you need all six to complete the Hardware Legend Yogi Berra (96) Collect mission. It appears two of the six items are much rarer than the others, as four equipment items are going for around 1,000 Stubs while the other two are going for over 25,000 Stubs on the Marketplace at this juncture.

The Ticket Store has three new Veteran cards in it today, most likely as the beginning of a preparation for the next Program, which will presumably be a Veteran program. They are a Veteran Flashback Victor Martinez (94 overall, Gold Level 1, 2,650 Tickets), Veteran Legend Tom Seaver (84 overall, Bronze Level 50, 600 Tickets), and a Brad Ziegler (82 overall, Bronze Level 30, 440 Tickets).

The roster update this week was more a slow burn than a big shake-up. It sets the table for a more explosive roster update in the future with more players changing tiers, but for now it mostly moved players around within existing tiers.

Moving Up

Diamonds: No new Diamonds this week, but Lindor and Goldschmidt went up.

Gold: J.D. Martinez (86)

-Chris Archer and Justin Turner also improved their Gold status.

Silver: Carl Edwards Jr. (83), Tyler Clippard (81), Didi Gregorius (81), Justin Bour (81), Avisail Garcia (80), Jose Bautista (80), Michael Feliz (80), Craig Stammen (80), Zack Cozart (80)

-Matt Kemp, Michael Fulmer, Michael Conforto, Aaron Judge, Marco Estrada, Corey Dickerson all improved their Silver status this week.

Bronze: Jorge Bonifacio (74), Josh Bell (73), Logan Morrison (72), Chad Pinder (70), Jarred Cosart (70)

Moving Down

Diamonds: Nobody lost Diamond status, but Miguel Cabrera went down.

Gold: Trea Turner maintained Gold status but did go down a bit.

My buddy opened about 15 of those and only got 1 Diamond. Quite a few Gold though. Some packs were only common and bronze cards though so it's a big risk.

I had 60k stubs. Could've finished the Rangers/Rays/Marlins or gotten two cheap diamonds or saved it up for something bigger. Took a gamble buying 4 packs after I saw someone pulled 2 diamonds in a pack on Reddit.

Is the Boggs a Events and Ranked games only? Or can you do this against CPU and Conquest?

I stupidly bought two packs knowing they wouldnt be worth it. I pulled 1 gold in each pack, recently moved to free agent Jung Ho Kang in each. There is something incredibly fishy about that.

That's happened to me twice before. Back to back same gold players. The first time was Familia, the second time was Trea Turner. I thought myself lucky and sold Turner for 20k stubs. Familia got me less than 3k.

I think the best value come Fridays is to avoid those expensive bait packs and to buy regular packs instead. You can easily get your money back and some extra just off the new faceless commons and bronzes. Those easily beat out almost any silver card and even a few golds.
Haven't really had time yesterday, but last week I made a killing on Magneuris Sierras and Texas RP Dirxs something.

Yeah, me too. I'm about 8 conquest games from finishing up my 4th go around, need 4 more hits for my Tigers team epic and Scherzer to make it 17/30 team epics. And one more walk to 100.
Then I'm packing it up and taking a break. Will just start it up to get my login reward, and try to get rid of all extra cards, just keep the 25 card roster.

Time to get back into Overwatch and Battlefield for a change of pace.

This type of thinking is what got me screwed yesterday blowing 75k on 5 packs, lmao

But seriously, buying a 50 pack and a 20 pack would have gotten me a better return than the trash I got. Man, I feel like a moron today. 15k for those packs, even if diamond pulls are 1% that's still horrible, horrible value. It's like they said "Let's see just how far we can take charging this packs" and I was one of the suckers who saw people posting sick pulls and wanted to be one.

I gotta remember that SDS plants people on Reddit to do crap like this. Trick other people into thinking they can get lucky.

I actually don't know what the Wade Boggs missions are, but generally speaking you can do these in most modes beyond just Ranked Seasons. I think Eddie Matthews and a couple of the other Epic missions are Ranked Seasons only but it's relatively rare.

Yeah, I buy one pack to write this story, but never buy packs y'all. I think I generally get good stuff because I don't actually want to buy the packs and so the game just gives me good stuff for lolz.
