re: Madden 18 editing
I have heard nothing about editing yet, but I assume that has not changed. I hope that they allow full editing outside of CFM. I create classic rosters and it would make things A LOT easier if I could have full editing capabilities from the start. -

re: Madden 18 editing
Speaking of player editing, I believe @Equipment_Guru tweeted out that he can change player development traits with roster updates this year, so maybe that might be opened up to outside-of-Franchise editing as well?
Can be edited inside Franchise regardless, but it might be a useful tool for roster makers if it's indeed exposed in the top-level roster interface.Comment

re: Madden 18 editing
I know you can edit roster outside of CFM, that is where I make the rosters. However, you do not have full editing there. Starting with M17, you can edit everything about any player inside of CFM. That includes ht, wt, skin tone, face, handedness and age/experience. None of those can be edited outside of CFM, but I would love to have that ability. It would make things a lot easier and save me a lot of time.Comment

Oh ok my apologies I thought you could edit everything outside of CFM because I've edited everything inside CFM and just assumed you could. That really doesn't suprise me that you can't to be honest just like create a playbook you can't actually set or re-set the order of your formations/plays something common sense would tell you is needed and was actually in NCAA years ago.I know you can edit roster outside of CFM, that is where I make the rosters. No problem. Your assumption that we should be able to fully edit outside of CFM makes perfect sense. There is no legitimate reason why we can't. Some people think it is EA is afraid of lawsuits, but that does not make sense legally and I am sure EA knows the law and the restrictions.Oh ok my apologies I thought you could edit everything outside of CFM because I've edited everything inside CFM and just assumed you could. You are right, there is more customization which should be common sense. Playbooks are a good example.
I would also like to see the ability to have the CPU use custom playbooks in CFM without having to go through a bunch of hoops. I should be able to set up a 32 team CFM and create all of the coaches and give each one of them a custom playbook that would be used in played games and should also influence the playcalling in simmed games. I should also be able to set the run/pass% for playcalling like we used to be able to do. However, they stopped working in M13 which is probably why they did away with it. I remember doing a lot of testing in M12 and if you set the run/pass% to 60%run, and simmed the season, that team would be darn close to 60% runs.
I didn't to go an a tangent there, sorry!Comment

You and I think a lot alike and it just amazes me that EA takes 2 steps forwards and 3 steps back at times with features instead of always just moving forward and opening up more customization which is blatantly a clear priority for their customers. No problem. I also hope that when we edit we don't loose the players portrait this year. It just looks better than the edited screen shot you selected.Comment

re: Madden 18 editing
Madden 17 was amazing IMO just because I was able to named all the rookies and properly edit player ratings and anything else within CFM making it very realistic. Controlling all 32 teams, you could even force wins.
The only thing missing is the ability to edit coaches names.
If they remove the ability to completely edit players within CFM, the game will go back to unplayable for me. And ruin the fun. Madden 17 was the first madden I played for more than 10 min since Madden 10. First one I played for more than a month since Madden 07.FLORIDA GATORS

re: Madden 18 editing
I don't think editing within CFM will go away. I just want them to add editing outside of CFM. As far as coaches, if you do a 32 team control, simply create a new coach. For instance, you can create Bill Belichick since he is not in the game. I do that and I do not let the CPU fire coaches, I fire them and replace them as I see fit. Now, I would love to edit coaches outside of CFM too. Basically, the more editing available...the better!Madden 17 was amazing IMO just because I was able to named all the rookies and properly edit player ratings and anything else within CFM making it very realistic.
