I can't believe Kenny you are asking for thorne and clement to comeback. I agree that they were very good however that is not how you keep things fresh. If you are going to go in a different direction it would be with a new set of announcers not going backwards. Or how about the ability to choose between two different sets of announcers?

This drives me absolutely nuts along with players turning the wrong way behind the net.

IMO, the gameplay is still really bad.
Your CPU teammates still stand around doing nothing. Until that changes, I'm not purchasing another EA hockey game.

what he said....this is why NBA 2K17 is the best sports game out there. (with MLB The Show 17 coming in a close second).

Re: Where Does NHL Go From Here?

While I agree the AI isn't genius, a lot of the stuff mentioned (players standing around, cpu retaining the puck despite getting laid out) is usually a result of user input on the LS. It's really EA's fault for not ever explaining to users in detail how they designed the AI and controls to interact. Like if you lay a guy out you have to let off the LS and glide or the game won't trigger a puck pickup.

Similarly, if you are skating around, the teammate AI reacts to counter around your movement. Once you let off the LS that's when they tend to find the proper spacing and off puck movement. In other words, when you're making inputs on LS your AI teammates get obsessed with staying the hell away from you and it can get pretty clunky once you throw the skating engine in which they don't quite know how to use.

Now, the atttacking AI in NHL is a whole other story and is just generic and boneheaded.

This is why I still play PS3 NHL, even though I own a PS4. This alone makes the jump to PS4 a downgrade. It's a massive hit to the atmosphere of the games.

                I'm still playing NHL '13...
