The Wichita State Shockers Comeback (NCAA 14)

    Shocking Comeback
I'm finally back to the game I love. After years of waiting for a newer version to be made I went back to my old console and broke out NCAA 14 again. I just found the Dynasty forum and decided to give it a shot. I've always enjoyed my dynasties but I think the reporting that is done here will bring me a new level of enjoyment and immersion that I've been looking for. As a Wichita native, Wichita State was an easy choice.

    The way I play:
    Rosters: KMILL98
I plan on doing all of the conference realignment to make this game line up with the 2016 season I will be putting Wichita State as an Independent for the first year at least, if not longer. When the time is right we will make the jump to the BIG12 based on location with 2 in-state rivals.
Sliders:OS Community + Playmakers Split Sliders

Recruiting will be fair game. It will be tough competing against 2 other in-state teams so I don't plan on limiting myself to certain players. I'm sure the terrible prestige WSU currently has will limit my choices in prospects as well.

Re: The Wichita State Shockers Comeback (NCAA 14)

Wichita State University has decided to bring back football. For the first time since the fatal crash in 1986 that all but ended the program. The stadium that was home to the Shockers in the 20th century still exists on campus. It has been home to high school football games and WSU track and field events for the last 30 years. Cessna Stadium will once again be the home of Shockers football. Although small at 24,000 occupancy, this should result in sell-out crowds at every game. If the program can be successful, expansion of the stadium would be in the near future.

This inaugural season might not have happened if not for Bill Parcells. After reaching out to his Alma Mater, he made it his mission to bring back the football team he once played and coached for. Due to his efforts, along with several others in the community, Wichita State was able to accomplish the goal of fielding a FBS team once again. It seemed only fitting that the former coach that put in so much time and effort, be offered the head coaching position. Bill Parcells gladly accepted the position and looks forward to stepping foot inside Cessna Stadium once again. He will be joined on the coaching staff by Defensive Coordinator Tim Harris and Offensive Coordinator Todd Ferguson. The season kicks off August 26th against UTSA. GO SHOX!!!

I wanted to get the rivalries started in year 1 so i scheduled KU and KSU. i have a couple of huge matchups against Clemson and LSU late in the year which shouldn't go well. I did, however, manage to get some winnable games on the schedule.
            Projected win-loss: 3-9

First game of the season against Buffalo this week. We have a very weak team but i actually like our backfield. Devin Hendrix at QB is a70 OVR freshman with 79 speed that fits my option style. At RB I decided to redshirt junior Donovan Engel(80 ovr and 83 spd) and let Terrell Owen start for his senior year. Owen is a 74 OVR senior with 90 speed. Our defense will rely on FS E.J. Pettit(79 OVR). He is our best defensive player by a mile. The junior needs to accept a leadership role and force some turnovers to give us a chance. Besides these guys we have no other players over 70 overall. This could be a long season.

This game obviously didn't go well. Majority of my passing yards came in the second half. I couldn't get anything going the entire game. E.J. Pettit was invisible on defense the entire game. I had to check the depth chart to make sure he was in the game. 1 tackle from my best defensive player is unacceptable. He won't be benched but possibly moved to another spot in the secondary if his poor play continues next week.

Kansas has yet to play a game this year and WSU is coming off an embarrassing blowout loss. Kansas has been a bottom dweller in the BIG12 for a long time and this could be a nice bounce-back game for in-state rival Wichita State.

This was a competitive rivalry game. We began to pull away a couple times but Kansas always found a way to come back. Hendrix played a much better game at QB this week throwing for 239 yards and rushing for 69 more. Pettit also played better at safety, leading the team in tackles with 7. Evans got 3 sacks bringing his total to 5 through 2 games this year.

Tough loss in your opener but you bounced back with a big win against rival Kansas
