But even more than that I'm excited to see if UConn can get over all the outside noise and finish off strong this year!
Ray Lewis was the one guy I was thinking of, but it just doesn't seem like all the pieces fit. He has his analyst gig at ESPN, and while he was a legendary player, I don't think he'd make a good coach. Which makes him a perfect candidate for some stupid school to swoop him up!

There's no denying that was a hard game to play. I'm willing to bet things would've gone a lot different if Rivero hadn't exited early, but when it's not your day, it's not your day I'm afraid. The one positive was that the defense didn't play horribly.

As for your comment, RT, K-State gave us a run for our money last year in their place. I haven't exactly noticed that level of parity in other games, but those two teams (along with Iowa State, I've come to find out), can never be taken lightly in Big XII play.

I'm not doing so well as OC this year in the win column for my team. Hopefully Urban needs a new one this offseason and wants a guy he has trusted before!

Sucks that UCONN dropped out the top 25 too! Hopefully you can end the year strong and get to a good bowl

Ugh I hate to say it but Rutgers has a ways to go before they can handle the Big Ten. At least we're scoring points and not getting blown out, but wins is what matters.

Trust me when I say this, Urban will need a new OC (I think, he definitely will need at least one new coordinator this offseason).

Maryland and Rutgers are suffering from the same issue -- the conference is so ridiculously strong. You both have pretty solid teams this year, but it's just not enough. I count eight teams in the Top 25, three in the top five, including Purdue at #1.

While it's looking grim for Maryland, Rutgers still has time and a plus .500 record at this point. Getting to a mid-level bowl is still a good thing, ensures you can stay and build the team to get better!

Re: We have a football team too... Guru's UConn Huskies (NCAA 14)

                Hi everyone!

It's been a while... But I wanted to finally bring some closure to the future of this dynasty. Make things official, I guess you could say. I just want to announce that this dynasty is officially retiring -- and with that the keyboard as well (though you probably figured that out already).

As you could probably tell, I haven't been active here (or anywhere on the site) in about two months. Put simply, I've faded into gaming retirement. It's been at least six weeks since I fired up a console and since February that I've played any NCAA games. My interests are in new places and my time has been crunched lately -- that won't change anytime soon. I hate to leave in the middle of the season (especially that I played through the rest of it) but at least we got knocked out of Natty contention. So that's not all bad.

I just want to thank you all very much for supporting this project (one of the highest rated of all-time!) and my other ones over the past two years. It's been a fun ride!

                All the best,

                Guru

P.S. --- At the end of the current (and abandoned) season, RoundingThird, you finally got promoted to head coach...at UNLV. Sorry I've denied you.

                      My Deegeezy moment...

Oh my.. so I have a little story that I needed to share with you guys, any of my old followers who may still be around on these boards. I last posted in this thread May 1, 2016, with my last actual game-related post around February 2016. Last summer as we moved I proceeded to tuck all of my notebooks away and a short time later the PS3 got packed as well. I went about my business as a retired gamer. Senior year of high school can be pretty draining.

Around April of this year I found the old dynasty thread and started to thumb through it, maybe just to kill time. And I missed it. I felt angry at myself for leaving in the middle of the season right at the dynasty's peak. I had no regrets leaving the dynasty at that time, but lately I've been rereading now that things are a lot less hectic. I reminisced and realized that at the peak of the dynasty in the summer of 2015 I was just happy playing, doing some part-time work and vacationing and enjoying one of my last years "being a kid".

Which brings me to today. I was going through some boxes in the basement and found the notebooks that housed the game notes and other unposted information for the remainder of the 2019 season and start of 2020 (I cut the dynasty off about Week 10 of the 2019 season)...

I read Deegeezy's first page story in his Tulane revival thread shortly after that project was re-started in mid-2015 and it moved me quite a bit. Lot of personal reflection and anecdotal material in that piece.. I really enjoyed it.

Re-reading his post today.. I noticed the parallels between my story and the Deegeezy story.. I recently started a Maryland project that I was excited about for approximately four days. I did get blown out game one but I still didn't enjoy it even when the game was close. No new dynasty I ever tried on here could come close to replicating the popularity and enjoyment I got out of UConn. I've been playing the NCAA franchise off and on for about 10 years and UConn was by far the most fun dynasty I have ever undertaken.

I also checked and came to the realization that I still have the save file on the PS3 (as I'm the only one who uses it anymore).. and it's right on cue with the end of the 2019 season. I am missing the box scores and game pictures, but so it goes.. the tablet that housed that information was destroyed in a fatal act of clumsiness by yours truly last September.

In any case.. I'm going to fire up the PS3 tonight and see where we're at and maybe this project will get revived. Just thought I'd leave the little story for you guys and tell you where my head is at here.

Nevertheless, a 2019 recap is definitely coming soon with all of the unplayed games. We'll go from there.

Glad to see you're back buddy. This was definitely one of my favorite threads and I'm excited at the possibility of you bringing it back. If it wasn't for me subbing to this thread I would've never known, so I'm glad I did. I'll have to go thumb through your Maryland thread as well, that way if you continue on with that one I'm not super behind.

Awesome story man and glad I could provide someone with some inspiration. Like you, even after quitting my Tulane dynasty 6 years ago, I found myself reminiscing about it every now and then; it just never left me.

I think a lot of this has to do with there no longer being an NCAA game release each year, so these dynasties now feel like they can run forever. I definitely don't see mine ending anytime soon.

Glad you found your backup data, just like I found my memory card two years ago.

I'll be going out of town to Canada this weekend alone for work, so I may have to set aside some time to go back and read this one from the start!

Oh man, if this one comes back, that would be amazing. Always one of my favorite dynasties on the board even though I found it pretty close to when you stopped it.

If it wasn't for me subbing to this thread I would've never known, so I'm glad I did. I'll have to go thumb through your Maryland thread as well, that way if you continue on with that one I'm not super behind.

Thanks to all of you. It's very very nice to know that there's still interest for this dynasty all this time later. Whughes, all we need is RoundingThird to come back and the band will be mostly back together! Thank you for subscribing and seeing this, it's really relieving that you in particular are still interested.. you and RT were easily my top two supporters.

I'm excited at the possibility of bringing this back too. I've been flipping through my notebook this afternoon, prepping the 2019 end of year summary and making notes to add onto existing storylines.. Trying to decipher my shorthand has been entertaining too considering I haven't looked at the notebooks in 18 months.

Geezy, some excellent points you make. I toiled on PS2 until I bought my PS3 in the spring of 2013, so I never totally felt the need to finish dynasties as new games came out.. nevertheless no new games definitely helps those set on doing NCAA dynasties and such. There's no hurry.. and in part that allowed me to work with this project for 14 months originally.

Your dynasty is truly fantastic, inspiring and very deserving in its place as one of the best of all-time. In fact, because of another one of your posts I recently put some mp3 files onto the PS3 for some stadium sounds like you have. I too do not know how I just found out about this.

I'll try to get the table of contents touched up soon if you want just the game content, but the varying discussions and interactions made this dynasty special so I hope you read all of it!

                                CAC Sign-Ups - 2020 season

As I'm prepping wrap-up posts and working on editing and updating coaches, I wanted to give one more opportunity for those interested in getting a create a coach into the dynasty for the upcoming 2020 season.

The Create-A-Coach fad which you see in dynasties such as mine, Cheese’s and gsutiger's among others, originated (or so I like to believe) here early in this dynasty’s run. The 2020 season in 'chise will mark the fifth season of our create-a-coach side story featuring, you, me, the followers of this 'chise and our coaching alter egos.

If you wish to be a little more interactive with me in this 'chise, fill out a coach submission form and I'll insert you into the game as a coordinator (I can’t stress that enough, I never give head coaching jobs off the bat). First jobs usually come at a mid-major-ish school, in the geographic area of your choice (if possible), in place of one of the fake coaches). With a little luck, skill and moxie, you can carve out your road to coaching glory with Coach Diaco and our rival schools. Who knows, maybe you can get to UConn someday.

To submit your form, PM this to me or post it right in here, either way works. I need any last submissions in by the end of the day Friday so I can get going with the new season.

REMEMBER: Folks already with a coach in the 'chise are NOT allowed to submit another at this time.

Completely optional, as always, and it doesn't require you to be active at all in this dynasty thread, the only thing you need to do is fill this out, make sure it gets in my hands and watch 2020 and beyond unfold. But it's a lot of fun, I do updates in with the Around the NCAA post and it's just a neat thing to follow along on the side. Everything is completely run by chance (I don’t play any CAC games), which makes it even more interesting to follow.

Also note.. if you are interested.. I'm running dangerously low on offensive coordinators (like..Idaho and Utah State low). If you become a defensive coordinator I will reward you with a good DC job!

                                Thank you for your participation!!!
