I'm not generally a fan of expansion but for the MLB I wouldn't mind two more teams, I'm tired of interleague play every day and would love to see it go away.

That's probably why he said the Rays/A's stuff needs to get solved before expansion talks do. So they know if they have enough locations to expand to depending on if relocation happens.

I'm sure expansion will eliminate a city that both teams will use in negotiations as potential exits.

Pulling one or two off the market throws the leverage right back at the city and MLB can't have that.

I stopped reading fangraphs because of that.

The Redskins did. At least in my part of town. Most of the kids I went to elementary/middle school with had a Washington starter jacket. It wasn't as dominant a fanbase as what Atlanta has/had in Charlotte, but it was pretty strong.

It was mentioned in the NBA thread so I'll bring that topic here:
What is the most successful first name in baseball? Variations of spellings I think count as 1(so ones like Shawn,Sean count in same category).

Common name like Mark(McGwire,Buehrle,Teixeira,Trumbo) is a good one I can think of right away. Mike is another one too(Schmidt,Trout,Mussina,Piazza). And Joe(DiMaggio,Morgan,Jackson,Torre,Mauer).

That's why they're getting the Rays/A's stuff sorted out first. If something needs to happen, one or both of them could end up being relocated. If both end up getting new stadiums and no relocation is needed, then MLB could be looking at expansion.

Braves promote Ronald Acuna to AAA Gwinnett...the kid is 19 and started the year in A ball. If he keeps it up, we could see him get a call up in September!

Austin Riley was also promoted to AA, which is odd to me since he's been slightly underwhelming at A+ this year.
