Playable Broadcast Cam

I would love if we were able to play madden in the same way we could in classic games like Tecmo Bowl or even in Madden 98.

I feel as if the current camera just isn't playable when you need to pass up field. one game that pulls off a really good large field broadcast cam, FIFA. Many may not be fans of this, but I know quite a few that would love it.

FIFA's seems to be perfect and you get a clear line of sight moving up field.


Tecmo Bowl's cam just gave that feel from a fans perspective. But wouldn't want the angle to be this overhead.


Madden's current cam would be ok if their were some type of defender indicator for down field defenders and WR down field similar to what Fifa has when the ball is advanced high and far upfield.


Overall I play games from a fans perspective and I always prefer to run in Broadcast, Madden is the only game in which i just can't get a good feel on the cam in place.

What do you guys think?

I wanted different camera perspectives in Madden since , I believe, 07. In 07 they let you manually adjust the camera. After that we were never able to do that again.

I'm not a fan of any of the playable cams we have now.

I remember 07. And the only one i kinda like is All-22.

I would love a broadcast camera view that auto zooms out when the ball is snapped to an adjustable pre-set of height and zoom to a players liking.

Also you would need options under broadcast camera for left-stick directions relative to the view, like 2K has in NBA where you can choose "camera relative" or "absolute", therefore you could still use directional passing with left stick.

I have always wanted to be able to watch friends' "broadcasts" without watching them play from their traditional camera.

I doubt this ever happens, But I think watching tournament games / friends playing from the broadcast perspective camera angle would be a really fresh way to illustrate football. When playing my offline franchises I enjoy letting the CPU control the offense and watching the game as if I'm at home on a Sunday watching CBS.

If I could watch friends playing against each other in this way, without knowing what plays they're picking and just watching, I'd probably spend time just watching them play.

I would love a new field goal camera. Zoomed out so you can see the goal post, wind socks at the top of the posts which seems so easy to put in but I have never seen in any madden game and a camera that follows the flight of the ball but zoomed out not like it has been for years. When you kick now it looks like the ball never goes any higher than the middle of the goal post when in reality most kickers kick it higher than the posts or at least near the top. Just looks awkward

They could keep what they got now with the broadcast cam and just zoom the camera out more once the ball is snapped if that would make things easier for them. But if they copied the fifa cams I would be more then happy.

is the camera angle that I want to play from...but after the snap the zoom out needs to be better...not just out but also up. I would also LOVE to see the QB's eyes tied to one stick and FORCE players to use the QB's head as much as his arms and legs. Add to this true route-based passing and timing, and the game would no longer need to be a bastardized version of 7-on-7 score fests to hold people's interest. TONS of people at high levels of competition play FIFA and NHL games where 2 or 3 goals in a game is a high scoring affair...Madden almost NEVER offers the same (unless the opponent quitting counts!).

THIS (from ESPN broadcast) is even better than the above zoom camera replay shot...


Either way, making the game play different from different camera angles is assuredly a 'bridge too far' in today's annual release paradigm.

I use this trick to make the Broadcast camera more user friendly.

(PS4)
Note - Make sure you are using the Broadcast camera as the primary option.

1. Pick your play
2. Once on the field, hit circle to switch to a player other than the QB.
3. Quickly Double-click L3 to player lock.
4. Allow the camera to rotate completely.
5. Once the camera stops rotating, double-click L3 to unlock the player.
6. The Broadcast Camera will then zoom out and and slowly zoom in.

Not the best solution but I helps improve the angles that are especially bad.
