Damn thats a tough loss to Penn State. Gotta imagine two conference losses will keep Rutgers out of the Big Ten Title. Hopefully this losing isn't a trend. UConn's looking strong, doesn't look like their side of the Big XII is putting up much of a challenge. My Dynasties

Seeing the NCAA players of the week from UConn and Miami really makes me cringe. I easily could have been screaming my head off at Yager Stadium in Oxford on those cold weekday nights in November. #MACtion is so hard to resist, but I had to...Red Sox|Patriots|Celtics|UConnComment

No doubt, you guys have almost doubled last season's win total already (you were 3-9 in 2019). Surely you're OK with the result though because OSU is your favorite school and James' alma mater.. but anyways. One more win and you're bowl eligible.. hoping you guys can get to a nice postseason game this year!
I think you typo'd some of that post but if I understand what you're asking.. you need to have a certain number of posts and have been a member for a certain amount of time before you can start posting threads (it's just a couple posts and a couple days, IIRC).
Nevertheless I appreciate you dropping in and sending your praise. It's my favorite dynasty/'chise on the boards too, just between you and me.I'm elated each day to be working with this again.
When I moved UConn to the Big 12 initially, I knew we'd have the easier divisional draw but I didn't expect us to be division champs every year.. sure enough we finished second or third behind Houston in our first year (2018.. the fated 9-4 year). Last season the division was really weak but the way KU and KSU started this year I thought they would be contenders. Houston and West Virginia both seem to be in a down year and Iowa State..... is Iowa State. I think if we beat KSU this week we'll pretty much create an insurmountable lead in the division.
There is something special about #MACtion and football on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night... but what would you do on Saturdays if you were stuck in Oxford? Hahah..Check out We have a football team too..Guru's UConn Huskies in Dynasty HQ!

On my phone, so I wasn't going to quote your whole post... Yeah, that's the problem. There's not much to do in Oxford except party. It's an hour away from Cincy and Dayton, almost two hours from Columbus, and while they make it easy for you to get there, it's still a hassle.Red Sox|Patriots|Celtics|UConnComment

Re: We have a football team too... Guru's UConn Huskies (NCAA 14)
Mandrell to take Rourke's starting spot at Right End
Coach Bob Diaco announced today a major change within his starting lineup moving forward.
After a four sack outburst in the fourth quarter of last Saturday's game against Kansas, redshirt sophomore James Mandrell will be taking the place of senior Sam Rourke in the UConn lineup when they travel to Manhattan, Kansas to take on the Kansas State Wildcats this Saturday. Mandrell has recorded five sacks in total this season along with three forced fumbles in limited playing time in 2020.
Originally posted by Coach DiacoJust like when we decide other position battles,
we need to go with the hot hand. James has played very well off the bench and deserves his chance to make an impact on a more consistent basis.
Altarri [Gardner, starting right end] has been playing well too and I didn't want to pull him out of our lineup. Though Sam has the most talent of the three, I'm not afraid to make decisions without regards to talent level.
If circumstances dictate it, Sam could return to our lineup before the end of the year.
Rourke holds the UConn record for career tackles for loss by a wide margin with 78 and currently ranks fourth in school history with 25 sacks. He also played an integral role in UConn's 2017 national championship as a true freshman, recording 20 TFL's and seven sacks. Two of those sacks came in his first ever college game against Virginia.
However, his college career will be marred by the pay-for-play allegations and suspension for the first two games of the 2019 season. Though we may never know the full story there, we do know that Rourke has not been the same player since, and now he has lost his job because of it.

Though it leaves all of Saturday open to watch every other game in the country, I just couldn't imagine going to a school where half the games play on Thursday.. that's just not cool haahahCheck out We have a football team too..Guru's UConn Huskies in Dynasty HQ!

Re: We have a football team too... Guru's UConn Huskies (NCAA 14)
The games being mid-week isn't that bad. At Western Michigan, it was awesome because you would have all of Saturday to catch up on the rest of college football. It was particularly good for WMU because Kalamazoo is so close to other markets, that until Fleck turned the program around, no one went to a WMU game if it interfered with a Michigan, MSU, Notre Dame game on TV.Comment

UConn Flashback: In 2018 in Manhattan, Kansas State (a 1-win team) gave UConn a scare. But nevertheless, UConn would pull out the W to keep their playoff hopes alive (albeit temporarily). Relive the game here.

I'm definitely going to sign up for club sports and intramurals (especially flag football, a sport which I never got to play growing up) but I'm nowhere near good enough to play varsity college sports.
Played basketball and golf for my high school of about 120 kids...I'm just average at golf and for basketball, I'm a great shooter but not that great at much else skills wise. Only started a handful of games through my four years. Being a short, slow white kid from the middle of nowhere puts me at a bit of a disadvantage athletically (LOL), but even though our team has sucked for the last ten years I wouldn't trade my HS basketball for anything. I could go on for hours about last season.
I remember reading that you're serious about your basketball career so I wish you the best of luck with that.. don't ever take your time playing for granted. I learned that all throughout last year.

Hoping for a dub here as well. We're a little stronger than K-State across the board .. we just play a clean game and I think we'll be alright.

I'm playing catch up tho, cause I only started playing last year. I have been blessed with decent height (6'1, probably grow a couple inches), and I'm pretty athletic. Not freakishly so, but more than most. I'm really just tryna see how far hoop can take me.

Re: We have a football team too... Guru's UConn Huskies (NCAA 14)
Since we're all reminiscing I'll just that add that I too went to a tiny school in the middle of nowhere (about 100 kids in 9-12) and we were also completely terrible as a school in all sports. With that being said I wouldn't trade my 4 years of high school for anything. Favorite memory by far is my entire senior football season, our varsity (we didn't have a jv team) hadn't won a game since I was a 7th grader. I was the only senior on the team that year and we went 3-6, it was a great feeling to be a part of rebuilding a program with a new coach. They made the playoffs for the first time in school history the next year right after I graduated and I can honestly say that I helped lay the foundation for them to be successful going forward.
Anyway, good luck against K-State. Like you said, you're more talented than them across the board so as long as your guys don't play sloppy you should have no problem coming out on top.Check out my dynasty thread:

That's a good point business-wise.. I had forgotten about that. The extra exposure of being on a ESPN network mid-week ensures more people to watch than on a Saturday competing against Michigan/ND/MSU games... very good point.
