So i'm kinda wondering how the facescanning will be this year. In NBA2K15 and 16 I used the PS4 camera which worked great for me, last year they switched to the facescanning App which simply did not work at all for me and i ended up using a created player face for my player. I been trying to scan for the last 10 months everytime trying again but it simply doesnt work and if i finally manage to get a good scan then it comes out as some sort of freaky looking monster from space. So i kinda hope this year they will either have a better working app like the app for NBA Live 18 which worked great in 2 go's or i hope they give us the choice either use the app or the PS4 camera again. Just wondering am i the only one that didnt get that facescan app working right for 17 or did you guys also ended up with some sort of monster looking freak after scannen ?

Honestly, I tried face scanning once every year and I either end up looking like Daffy with his bill shot off or an alien from Invader Zim. I also have seen "good" face scans and they don't blend in with scanned players as well as a good CAP so I gave up on it and I've been lucky enough to be blessed with a face that can be recreated with 2K's current CAP system. I'll likely be making myself that way again this year.Comment

I really hope the face scanning is improved this year so i dont end up with a 3 eyed monster from outer space lol, which ends up me making a created character instead. 2K15 and 2K16 where great for me when i could use the PS4 camera and my scans came out amazing but last year with the app scanning nothing but monsterly freakish looking faces lol
Lets hope this year is better if not then back to just creating a characterComment

Always worked pretty good with me. The trick is good lighting and a blank background. For best lighting before app last year I used a 5 light floor lamp with light bulbs that mimicked the closes to natural light by getting those that is white instead of which gives a more yellow hue which is a lil cheaper and most popular. I'd then position each light at angles to get rid of as much shadows on my face as possible with lamp about 5-6 ft away from me. During scanning you must turn head very very slow side to side until it finish.dont worry about looking at camera during scan and instead have eye follow movement of your head. With app it best scanning outside if you dont have the right lighting inside.PSN = BigTwan810

Tried everything simply no luck with the app, even tried it again a couple weeks again with again no luck. Even went to a photoshop where i could use their whitescreen and their lighting and still my face came out looking al weird not even to mention the skin color that comes out weird looking. On PS4 camera previous years I never had a problemComment

i know this is about 2K but Live 18 facescan is spot on and very easy to achieve. and they have the forehead to hair ratio properly not like 2K.Comment

With the Ps4 cam it was very easy and the result was very good.

I hope we can adjust the scan after it's completed.
Like somehow none of the textured eyebrows lined up with my scan so I pretty much had no eyebrows.
This was after the first patch where it magically funked with my pretty good face scan.Comment
