I'm praying like hell that this game is good. A bit of competition would be great for 2k and the consumers market

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions

I'll keep adding to this post, just little things I notice.

Every bit of height/weight you change will affect some attributes. Speed, height...TBH I forgot the other 2. My bad.

Damn, there's so much stuff. TBH I don't even know how I can describe it in words, it'll make a lot more sense once you see it in person.

You get 4 primary skills and 2 secondary skills. The third and fourth primary unlocks at level 7 and then level 15, for secondary it's 25/30.

"Traits" looks like NBA live's version of badges. You get 3 badges per player, and you can have a different set of badges for a pro-style game, or a street style game.

Each new badge has 3 levels to it, and you have to complete a few things to unlock the level.
For example, I made a playmaker. If I want to make my 3 point shot better...

Rank 1: Reach XP level 35, Make 50 shots with good timing, make 20 three pointers with good timing
Rank 2: XP level 50, 75 shots with good timing, 50 three point shots with good timing
Rank 3: XP level 60, make 100 shots with good timing, make 75 three point shots with good timing

What isn't clear right now, is once you get rank 1, does the shot counter reset? Or do you just have to hit 25 more of each to get to the next rank?

Here's a list of traits I see for playmaker type:
      Inside SHooting
      Spicy Dish
      Windbreaker
      3 pt shooting
      Beat the press
      Bullet Pass
      Clutch
      Contested shot
      Counter strike
      Don't reach
      dunk
      early release
      free throw shooting
      Late release
      marathon runner
      no foul
      open three
      open two
      rebounding
      relentless defender
      screen driver
      screen shooter
      split decision
      step back
      step off
      streaker
      superstar
      sure handles
      wind sprints

I'm not sure if these only apply to playmaker, and I'm also not sure if we'll be able to make multiple characters (Have yet to do that. Doubt you could in demo anyways)

So far for play now i only have the option of warriors vs cavs. I do not know if by playing more of the one mode if more teams will be unlocked for the play now mode.

Driving into someone and then doing a step back feels great, but stepbacks generate an insane amount of space

There seems to be a bug with the camera app face scan with the rest of the body skin color. When you select your app scan face it is the correct skin color but there does not seem to be an option to configure the rest of your body skin color to match.

Let me get this out the way, NBA LIVE IS BACK. Controls are very responsive at the same time it's smooth. Live is notorious for those robotic animations and it's still there to a degree. But it doesn't feel robotic and stiff. The game feels smooth. The right stick dribbling is fun. You don't get stuck in animations, you have control and can chain together some nice crossovers. Graphically Live has the best looking arenas hands down. Player models are improved but the other guys still have the better looking players overall. Gonna dig into the demo some more and post more impressions, but I can confidently say the game is legit gameplay wise. And no this isn't me just being hyped or excited for a new game.
Itโ€™s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didnโ€™t.

That's disappointing, Live 16's demo had 6 teams. Oh well, will have to wait for the full game. I play with the warriors anyway

Good to hear. How would you say it compares to Live 16? Significant improvement in gameplay?

                        PS4
                        The One/The Streets

Hope to post some highlights, seen a lot of cool animations both on defense and offense. I really feel in control of my player on offense and defense for the most part and I love that. I was pulled in a direction for a couple extra dribbles by the defense but I only seen that happen once.

The atmosphere is amazing. There was something about the Crawsover that stood out, maybe because it was indoor, but it was amazing.

Hoping to try out some other modes later today, specifically WNBA and the online 5 on 5.

Can anyone confirm that there is a true TV broadcast angle like in the previous games? I hate the behind the view madden look?

Ok here are a few early gripes I have. It's possible that I haven't found the solution that's in the game or I just suck right now:

                              1. Me and 2 other friends (3 total) played against the CPU. I'm a point guard but I was stuck guarding Wiggins? I'm a 6'4 PG but the CPU was assigned to gaurd the backcourt. If they have CPU teammates I was hoping they'd fill out the positions that we don't have

                              2. The camera is really annoying when you don't have the ball. I can't tell where my guy is at all

                              3. Icon passing is going to take getting used to. Got to hold down r1. I kept turning it over because I kept releasing

Ok, for "The Streets Camera View" I just found player lock

Wow there's a whole lot of different controls. Like, dribble handoff is hold circle
