this is why the Brick wall screens are a Joke

    HOW WOULD THIS EVER HAPPEN.

Yes TT in this game is stronger than KD ( a 90 vs a 76 in strength) but KD is Taller and Heavier than TT.....

I mean if say KD didn't have all of his weight on one side and didn't see it coming then yeah it could happen. How often did it happen in this game you were playing?

larger and stonger opponent sets screen and defender slips and falls. thats basketball and happens in NBA all the time. uou wanted a simulation game and EA tried hard to give it. the term "brickwall" isnt needed

Do nba players really fall to the ground that often? I can imagine this being like 2K17 in park .

            My thoughts exactly.

I don't understand why people get so up in arms over single possessions. If anything, that's great there is some randomness that can open things up and not have every possession equate to the same exact thing. Brickwall stuff absolutely happens in real basketball, dudes will eat it occasionally getting hit by a surprise screen or just lose balance.

It's not that common either in the game. I think I've had about 5 games in a row with no such thing happen..if it does, that's GREAT, I enjoy a bit of a the unexpected. It's definitely not OP.

Seriously how often are NBA players face planted into the ground off screens .

Ea does call some screens in this game Brickwall. It's literally a skill badge under Rim Protector. just hope it's not as bad as Hall of Fame brick wall. If not then fine. If so that's BS and not sim at all.

I pretty much know how to force people to fall using screens and I don't even have brick wall as a trait . I try not to abuse it .

Doesn't change the fact that I can floor people almost at will in live run and even the community challenge. And I don't even have the brick wall skill

And now KD is to be known for his strength, common lads, that's a very plausible situation in real life either...

                      I agree.
here's the way brick walls should work in the game.

If the defender is sliding over or running towards the pick at full speed. depending on the strength, size of the picker, vs strength size of the defender. it should determine if the player falls on the ground if he's picked off. but there's one more thing to worry about. where exactly is the defender hitting the screen? is it a slight leg tangle up? if so, you could still trip and fall trying to get that ilegal pick call. guys do it all the time. you're basically flopping since you know there's no way to make it around the screen. you try to get the call. if a guy is up really tight on the offensive guy onlys omewhat being screened. then no brick wall should occur. it should happen when the defensive guy hits the pick settings right int he numbers.
They should also allow the pick setter to set moving screens or to give guys that extra shady push. and if you time it right it can somewhat brick wall a guy too. if the defender doesnt see it and play it right. no call. if the defender plays it right. its an illegal screen.

thats real life. some teams / players are known for holding on screens or pushing hard after they roll off of it.

Re: this is why the Brick wall screens are a Joke

to me, the only thing that makes it unrealistic is that if that halpened in real life TT would be called for a foul ASAP!

no way KD hits the floor like that and nothing is called.

i think the brick wall happens more than id like to see, but NO WHERE AS CLOSE as the other game. also its not as penalizing on live. the "screenee" has a better chance to recover, which i dont like seeing either lol

all in all, i like the pnr animations however tbis could be toned down imo

back in the day i would run through the first pick (take the foul) and make sure buddy sets a "softer" screen the rest of the game. if i was the one setting the screen ID MAKE SURE YOU FELT THAT 1ST ONE lol, while taking the foul as well! for those of you counting, yes thats 2 early fouls but statements and tone were set! lmao

We really appreciate it Schwall. We've been waiting for this day for a long time. You guys are reallllly close. Just keep tweaking.

When I reply or post in here I will always try to respond in a manner of programming logic. no. i'm not a programmer. But I've been around enough programs, computers to know the basic fundamental logic behind any program. Which always comes back to IF, Then, or else, statements. then tossing in operators and's and or's a ton.

Like this brick wall thing how i responded a few posts above.

In addition. Not only should certain guys in the nba be known for this. But certain teams should have more brick walls than other teams. I still remember how shady the picks were under Coach Thibs when he was with boston. KG was not setting those illegal screens as a Twolve. Kendrick Perkins grew up as a celtic. so all he has ever known was hold em, and push off, move when setting screens. Yes its illegal. but if they dont call it, keep doing it. and Thibs does this stuff on purpose. He teaches his defenders to grab/hold away from the ref's side, so they wont get caught. Thibs isnt the only one doing that but he's the best coach at it. I bet my next check that Karl Towns will be setting a ton of moving picks come this season. you watch.

Logic for something like this would be.
Certain guys are brick wall guys(high percentage of brick walling someone.)

Certain instances can turn on a brick wall scenario even without being a brick wall guy but this will only occur once in a while (low percentage).

Certain teams are known for it from a coaching stand point. aka A Physical team. or a screening team where you see guys always get open after the screen. odds are they are moving /pushing/holding. So in that situation turn up the percentage odds on a brick wall occurring for anyone on said team. This will have that feel of realism when you play vs a nice finesse team then here you go playing a team thats about that brick wall life. lol. The games would be night and day. and make sure when guys keep getting caught on those screens it tires them out. enough so that its noticeable over the course of a full game no matter if its 5 mins or 12 min qtrs.

When creating these setups just make sure to give yourselves tuners. The more tuners you have in the end. the more you dont have to do actual programming work. now you can just tune it. a little to the left....ehhh a little to the right.
