Amazon discount
Amazon offers a discount to prime members for pre-ordering physical copies of a game. Presently, they only allow you to pre-order the digital copy, which does not offer the discount.

Re: Amazon discount
They probably will, they only put up the physical copies of Madden recently, my gut says they'll do the same for 2K 2 weeks out

Re: Amazon discount
It's weird. I pre-ordered Evil Within 2 and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War in July. You could pre-order 2K as far as June but not this year. I don't know why. Madden is up on Amazon now and it comes out next Friday. For someone who likes to pre-order months in advance it's not good for me. Makes you feel insecure because it makes you feel like you won't be able to get the game. I am an Amazon Prime member too and it's like you do want to take advantage of your benefits.Comment

Re: Amazon discount
Agreed, I find it extremely odd, I remember being able to preorder earlier versions of the game months in advance. We're just a few weeks out, the only alternative is through Newegg, which means you get it after release date. Still, better than the high $60.00Comment

Re: Amazon discount
Best Buy not an option? I'm a prime member myself but I'm also a gamers club member for BB and I'm going to pick it up once released. Just didn't feel like at the end of the day to get it delivered. My area is usually the last stop for delivery...

Re: Amazon discount
Maybe, $30 for something we currently get for free with a prime membership. Still may have to look into it though.Comment

Re: Amazon discount
For me Amazon is not what it used to be not even close.
1. They charge tax now yeah I know they have to but still that used to save a lot on its own.
2. BB gamers club you get 20% of any new game no matter how long you get the game after it comes out Amazon you don't.
3. Amazon you don't get points that add up with what you buy like you do with BB.
4. Sounds like some games Amazon is only having digitally now or something.
5. Amazon used to do a thing with some games were if you preordered a game you would get like 10 credit towards your next game now they don't do that any more.
6. I don't stream stuff and like most the time I am watching TV I am watching sports and I own most of the movies I would ever care about watching and I don't use amazon enough to get 100 or even 50 with student prime amount of money out of it plus you only have to spend like 35 or something to get free shipping any way and I can want a day or 2 longer with free shipping and not pay for shipping its not a big deal.
To me I don't know why any one would use amazon over BB any more for games. I still use amazon for some stuff but for video games BB is much better.Comment

Re: Amazon discount
Actually if you sign up for Amazon Prime Visa you can actually get points. Currently I'm sitting close to 200....waiting for XboxoneX for preorders to go up. The rest I agree...I remember ordering games and getting credit back. BB has this for certain games...For me Amazon is not what it used to be not even close.

Re: Amazon discount
Wow. So, most of the points you made are pretty ridiculous.
You're charged tax at Best Buy too. You realize that?
Looks like there is a way of earning points from the prior post before mine.
Amazon doesn't have to discount games, majority of people will still buy due to convenience. Gamers Club, while it has its benefits, is an additional 1 time charge to access prices that Amazon is giving the majority of their members.
Competition allows for better prices all around and a better product, but your list seems silly! Best Buy is targeting a niche, Amazon's volume doesn't really have to do this.Comment

Re: Amazon discount
Things a fact. I will say, I've pre-ordered games from Amazon 3 times and two of them got delivered the day prior. I'm pre-ordering it from both just in case that happens again

Definitely will be up the week before release. Madden's early edition releases tomorrow night/Tuesday midnight and they put up physical pre-orders a few days ago after offering digital only for months.Amazon offers a discount to prime members for pre-ordering physical copies of a game. Re: Amazon discount
I don't see how most of my points are ridiculous. The things I said are true about how amazon doesn't do things like they used to do and you say how you get charged with gamers Club while you get charged with amazon prime to and it is more 100 a year compared to BB and its 30 over 2 years and yeah you can get games with free shipping but you can with BB to so who really cares about that part. The only thing on my list you could say is crazy is the streaming thing but that is more just an opinion thing the rest are more like facts. Yes competition is always good but I don't see how BB is targeting a niche at all. I also forgot to say that with BB you can also get points for posting reviews up to 5 a year so that is another thing with amazon they don't have. Amazon is still great to have because they have a lot of different things and the price for things can be good and there customer services is like top class but when it comes to video games I don't see why any one would go there any more over BB. Even if you take away the like 2 things I said that are more just opinion it still levels like 5 things that make BB much more of a money saver place. Oh I also forgot some times like 3 times or so a year I think BB will do a spend 100 with Visa checkout and save 25. So that is like another thing BB has going for it.Wow. So, most of the points you made are pretty ridiculous.
