Will playing Ultimate Team improve my game in general?

    Hi everyone,

I've noticed there are a lot of players that made "CAFs" (that is the correct term to use right?) and just maxed out their attributes and strengths by playing the Ultimate Team for hours and hours. My question is - if I start playing Ultimate Team will it really improve my game? my stand up and ground game? Or is just playing against random guys online with a fighter from will be good enough.

I think I am pretty good, I would love to fight any of you guys to see if I am even close enough to the level of players here. my PSN id is "sigal7688", I don't have thousands of fights but still consider myself a decent fighter that can stand and grapple with anyone, unless you are Kenetic or MartialMind from what I saw here they are really good.

I'd love to get some pointers on how I can improve and would love to show you guys what I can do in the octagon.

Thanks for the reply homie, so you think I shouldn't start playing UT?

I'd love another opinion on this.

What I find is, UT is more about striking and ranked is more about grappling. Both gives you different ideas of how to play the game. Do both, but I'd say ranked covers the more tactical side of things.

Yeah that's what I found too. Being pretty maxed out against lower ranked people actually helped my striking a lot, allowed me to practice throwing combos and learn what combos are most effective.

Both UT and Ranked have their advantages. I consider myself a decent enough player and I mostly play UT and don't really have too many issues when I move over to ranked or on the live event championships. I feel UT will teach you combinations a lot more as people can select which moves they wish to use, whereas ranked - as JustBlazeM8 has said - will teach you more about the grappling.

Both are fun but if you've not started playing UT already you'll find it a bit of a grind!

Thanks a lot for the pointers!

I think I'll stick to ranked and quick matches then. My stand up is pretty decent in my opinion, and I can go toe to toe on the feet with anyone I believe.

My ground game is where I need to improve, and clinch - denies and striking in the clinch is a bit weak on my part. And from what I saw in the Ultimate Team IT IS a grind and takes forever to rank up.

So thanks for the tips and the info. Appreciate it.

I found I didn't really learn the ground game until I made a jiujitsu based guy in Ultimate team. You have an advantage over most people in the game on the ground in the earlier divisions, and then you start to see how attributes make such a difference in terms of timing reversals and transition speeds when you start fighting more challenging people.

I started out playing ranked, then switched to ultimate team. When I went back to ranked I started smashing people because I had a much better grasp on how to play.

Playing the game will make you better but you really need to learn what works and how it works. You need to learn how some punches connect and some don't. I love ut. It's all I play. I've gone into ranked and have done pretty well. Although I learned to play the game on ut. I recommend fighting in ranked. From what I noticed ranked players coming into ut do a lot better than ut to ranked.
