Lot more weight to the players, looks much more difficult to turn on a dime. I'm of course interested in the team tactics, but need to see it in action before we can deem anything is different.

I think it's going to be much more difficult defensively this year, which is great. Need to hold your position and not just fly in for tackles and recover.

Last note, I hate watching User v User games, lol. I don't get how people get joy out of playing like that, just forward forward forward. Ugh

Edit: the ball is definitely small. Noticeably

Might be the way they're playing, but it's still so FAST. At least the players look like they have some weight. Maybe with sliders we can slow it down to a more real soccer pace.

Also some of the players looked so awkward walking out of the tunnel lol.

Surprisingly to me this looks a lot better than a lot of the pre-release gameplay we've seen over the years. It's not perfect, but the game and gameplay look damn good to me. I had my criticisms of 17, but I enjoyed the hell out of it, and thought it was a good direction gameplay-wise.

Now, career mode, that is another story.

Yeah, I'll definitely have to drop the speed and acceleration down in the sliders. I wish it would have shown them choosing their kits for the match. I'm assuming an option to mix and match kit pieces weren't added, although they SHOULD be, but I'd like to see for certain.

I also was pleasantly surprised. The guys in the OS slider thread have taught me a lot about what to look for in the game, and I thought the H/L/W looked quite good at first glance. Again, difficult to know until I see Hum vs CPU, but I loved how the 5 man backline looked for Chelsea. I saw Chelsea's wingers making some intelligent runs inside, with those WB's overlapping wide.

Matic for MUFC looked a true DMF in terms of positioning. I'll be stepping right into my MUFC career and that's the first thing I'm looking at. Does the DMF sit behind the CM more than not. I'm praying it holds up because it's literally exactly why we bought Matic, to sit behind Pogba and free his game up the pitch.

One more month, I'm not sure I can stand the wait!

You really can't get a full judgement of the game until you see user vs CPU game play.

I think it's got a similar base to 17, except for some added movements/animations which could be a good thing.

Ball size looks reasonable, which was my concern.

Still not a fan of the lighting - but I'll get over it.

Agreed that p1 v AI needs to be seen to truly judge.

A bit direct play means we'll have to look at marking or HLW - there's just a bit of space, but not as bad as what has been shown in PES.

I agree player movement looks more lifelike and deliberate, which is very promising. Despite never really getting into FIFA17, I was still able to get it playing reasonably well with sliders. Hopefully the career mode additions freshen things up a bit, and I'm already not as burnt out on the mode as many of you are. Strangely, I'm somewhat optimistic that it might be a sneaky good year for FIFA.

I like the suggested subs during the game.

Game looks great! Can't wait to give it a try next month.

That's FIFA 18 team styles. Making CTTs work as they should.

This is pure advertising from a trade show where things are to be sold. It's the same every year, let's hope that there is finally weight behind the words, because it seems to have potential.

The last time that I played FIFA was like 5yrs ago. This game looks incredibly good, love the walking animations. I might get it.

I had the same feeling. The guy is "excited" with things that are not new or do not have any significant impact on the game. If he was playing FIFA 17 and nobody told him, he would have done and said the same things, that´s the feeling i got...

The game looks the same, but the game always looked good to me. What we need to know is how the CPU plays, and does the game allows for freedom and randomness or is it the same gameplay of year´s past.
