Re: Everybody's Golf Arrives on August 29 For PlayStation 4 - Watch The New Trailer
Yeah, the putt count isn't really a thing on a normal golf scorecard. It's just there because it's Hot Shots. My lack of knowledge of real golf, but what do the numbers mean next to your score on each hole? The 1's and 2's.
And I got to rank 3 last night, at least I think, I'm not fully understanding how this rank system works, but I can't find or figure out how to use the golf cart. I won two tournaments after the second it gave me a certificate saying rank 3 or something.Comment

Re: Everybody's Golf Arrives on August 29 For PlayStation 4 - Watch The New Trailer
It's definitely a grind, but it can be made to go somewhat faster by turning on "Serious Mode" with square on the tournament selection screen. The opponents score better, but winning is worth more XP and coins. I can usually get enough XP to challenge a new vs. character in 2 successful rounds when that's on. If it's an 18 hole tournament, it might only take one.Currently rank 4 and level 10. It's a grind getting through the ranks. You need to at least play 3 rounds before getting enough exp to play against a character and you need to beat 3 characters to get ranked up. Also I have unlocked only 3 courses so far but its cool they do the course mirroring and different hole types to keep you entertained through the grind. If anyone has the DLC courses are they worth the buy?Comment

I'm still confused with the online lobby.
Are you actually able to COMPETE against another player? I see you can try to best other players' scores in a given hole but what about a vs. round of 9 or 18?Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

You can open up a room for up to 3 other people (can be passworded or limited to friends only) and play a stroke play round with them. You could also try to coordinate just playing together on the open course, but since you can't party up you wouldn't be able to see each other's scores.
It definitely feels like an oversight that you can't make an open course party. I'm still wondering if I'm missing something - seems like a wasted opportunity.Last edited by bcruise; 08-30-2017, 02:49 PM.Comment

Yeah...I mean I thought when the game was announced that we would be able to play ranked tourneys with like 20 or 30 people in them versus having to do it versus an AI.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: Everybody's Golf Arrives on August 29 For PlayStation 4 - Watch The New Trailer
That is probably coming later - I know there's a 3rd gate in the home area and I think it's for some sort of "international tournament" I read about in one of the loading screens. The screen itself said that "it's not ready yet", so it's probably a feature they're going to roll out later (and people need time to unlock the courses anyway).Comment

I'll be picking this up soon just been busy lately. I did receive an exclusive code the other day for a bear costume for use in the game. Sony sent it to me by e-mail for participating in the beta awhile back."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Ok folks, I came across a pretty useful article today which is actually more detailed and informative than the game manual. I never knew there was a way to apply side spin till I read it here. Do take a look as it should help your gameplay...
It makes me wonder why the game didn't have a basic tutorial listing various shots. Would definitely have come in handy.Comment

Just found out you can move around while viewing the open course overview (touchpad button). Pretty cool because you can see a lot more of what's going on around the course that way.Comment
