When I slap in ./Desktop/psvimgtools-0/psvimg-extract -K 64-digit ID savedata.psvimg Output I get an illegal instruction. Previously I've gotten an segmentation error 11. Now it's entirely Illegal Instruction 4. It recognizes that psvimgtools-0 is a directory, but always gives me this error. I've downloaded the GUI, but it's totally baffling to me. Like I said, I've read your exchange with Jay, but it didn't provide a solution for me.
Maybe you need to type all commands like this:
    Code:
    "./Desktop/psvimgtools-0/psvimg-extract" -K 64-digitID savedata.psvimg Output
Note that there are quotes, at least in Windows, quotes are required when you invoke a program from a different folder in the terminal as above. Do not know how it works on Mac. Be sure to invoke psvimgtools in the correct form. Another way is to put all needed files/folders inside any folder (create a new one) to type for example:
    Code:
    psvimg-extract -K 64-digitID savedata.psvimg Output
Actually, extracting is not really required. Just backup you original game save (savedata folder) and try to repack my files with psvimgtools and your key, finally replace the whole savedata folder in APP/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/PCSE00084 with the one you will get after repacking to transfer the game back to your device with (Q)CMA.

    Hope this helps.

At the risk of sounding like a total supernoob: how do I repack? Is it a terminal thing? Which line of code should I be using? In psvimgtools do I use create or decrypt?

Thanks for the help Lorak. I'm super stoked this project exists and can't wait to play.

I plan to release this patch I have been talking about, at some point in the first weekend of September, on September 3rd or 4th.

For anyone interested in this graphical patch, it is very important to be ready with a dumped/decrypted version of the game including the original patch file. Even for those that play in a device running OFW, it is mandatory to have the dumped/decrypted files to apply my graphical patch successfully.

At least, we need the following dumped/decrypted files from the game:
        • qkl_boot.ast
        • qkl_fe2ig.ast
        • qkl_patch.ast. This is the original patch file of the game mentioned above.
        • qkl_ram.ast

I plan to release updated files, a program to repack them (not developed by me), 4 bat files (in correspondence with each one of the files in the list above) to repack everything automatically with just one click. I will type a guide explaining how to proceed, of course.

        Update:
To clarify, the tool and bat files mentioned above are Windows only. For other OS you would need to compile the tool's source code (I will provide a link to download it) to get an executable appropriate for your system. As long as the OS in question is gcc compatible you will be able to compile it.

what will this patch have in it?

Yes, it is a terminal thing unless you go with psvimgtools-frontend (GUI). To repack just type
          Code:
          psvimg-create -n savedata -K 64-digitID Output
given that you have all files/folder inside one folder (just create a new one and put everything there). Follow my previous post.

              Graphical Patch Release.

I am glad to finally release this patch for Madden NFL 13 PS Vita/PSTV for the start of the 2017 NFL season. As mentioned in the first post of this thread, almost all graphical components of the game are updated for this season with a couple of exceptions: stadiums and color rush uniforms, I have included a few color rush uniforms though.

Actually, I have started this update since last year. I have put a lot of effort to finish it. I hope all of you will like it.

              Let's start with the guide!

First, remember that it is mandatory to have all game files decrypted. At least you need the following game files decrypted: qkl_boot.ast, qkl_fe2ig.ast, qkl_patch.ast and qkl_ram.ast as I have informed in due time.

Second, download my graphical patch from this link and please follow the readme. Remember to backup your original files (as I always say) in case of something unexpected.

For those of you in HENkaku:
Just replace the (original) files qkl_boot.ast, qkl_fe2ig.ast, qkl_patch.ast and qkl_ram.ast with the just repacked files in your device. That is all!

For those of you in OFW:
              Spoiler

It is a good practice (not mandatory) to reboot your device before launching the updated game.

If you have issues, try to repack files again. Always work with fresh (original) files. That is the importance of backing up your original ast files.

Hopefully this guide is crystal clear or at least clear enough to make it work.
Anyone who is willing to make a donation can do it through this link and will be really appreciated.

There are a number of these types of errors - is that ok? Can you post an sfv to verify the final output files please?

                  0x12a32c1d .
                  - zlib Z_DATA_ERROR, the data in the file is not in zip format
or uses a different windowBits value (-z). Try to use -z -15

It happens when repacking qkl_fe2ig.ast, actually we are not touching those files. It is only a warning from offzip tool.

Lorak, first, thanks for all the work.

I have had an awfully hard time getting these to work.

I was able to figure out psvimgtools via the gui, and extract everything, however none of the ast files are anywhere you say they should be.

Likewise, after applying the roster update, I don't see any changes at all.

What am I doing wrong? I bought Madden just to use your patches, but if I can't get them working, I'm going to take it back.

                      Help!

                      (and thanks again!)

psvimgtools (GUI) will extract all files of this game. However, you only get pfs encrypted files from psvimgtools. You still need to decrypt those files. The only way until now is through a hacked device (PS Vita/PSTV), then look around for those files in the web. Just then, follow the guide to apply my graphical patch, otherwise it will not work.

About updated rosters (it is the same idea for updating game files anyway) and given that you are working with psvimgtools (GUI), make sure you delete (back them up first, of course) your game saves located in the savedata folder where you have extracted the whole game with psvimgtools. Then, just copy all my roster files for OFW there, repack the game with psvimgtools and transfer it back to your device.

In all cases, please try to be specific about your issues. How could I know what are you doing wrong if you do not provide a detailed explanation? I am not a magician.

Just curious, I have the Madden hard game that I use (I didn't have enough room on my card to install overwise), would I still be able to use the patch? I'm on HENkaku, I wasn't sure if these files are part of the install the game does and I'm able to access them.

Yes, probably you will be able to use this patch. I am not 100% sure as I only own a digital copy.

You should have folder ux0: patch/PCSE00084 on your PS Vita memory card. Given that your device is on HENkaku, just check it. If it is not the case, download the 1.01 patch normally just like with any other game, then back up the game (actually it will be only the patch) through (Q)CMA to your computer and proceed according to my guide for those in OFW skipping the third step. Be aware that you still need all game files decrypted as referred in that guide and around 1GB of room in your PS Vita memory card to allocate it.

                            Hope that helps.
