My Team Online Impressions after full night of playing
So i spent most of the night playing My Team online matches after unlocking the AH. Here are my thoughts:
1) Gameplay is MUCH more realistic: If you rely on shooting too many 3's or getting greens....you will get crushed. It's not like last year when you're open its an automatic bucket. You really have to work to get good looks and as of now scoring in the paint is more effective.
2) Offball Defense is no longer OP: Had a few guys that tried to play offball and if you have to good ballhandler, he will just blow right by them. CPU defense isn't as smart as last year.
3) You can play with an unrestricted lineup until Supermax Season starts on Sept 22nd: So once you get done with your placement matches, you can play "Preseason" games with an unrestricted lineup until the actual supermax season starts. This is pretty nice for trying out lots of players
4) Coach Proficiency System really matters: I chose Defense for my coach system and guys like Shaq and CP3 get a big ratings boost in lots of areas because they match the system. When i had Kyrie, his rating went down 1 overall because he didn't fit in the system. So make sure you are using players that fit your system.
5) Servers a very choppy: Right now the servers are very laggy and the games have been choppy and spotty. This is a bummer since the gameplay is so good. I just hope they get this sorted out soon. I lost 1 game because of the lag.
I went 4-1 in my placement matches and got placed in the Sapphire league for Supermax once it starts. Haven't run into anyone that has tried 5 out yet, but based on what I saw in the prelude it won't work.
Oh yea, and Kevin Durant is damn near unstoppable right now. If you can KD i suggest you do. His defense is much better this year and with the new triple threat moves his offense is on another level. Easily my favorite player right now. It doesn't matter if they play offball or onball.....KD gets buckets.
