Re: What's the benefit of cloud/online CFM
You get access to tuning updates rather than having to wait for patches. Essentially glitches can be fixed quicker as they are found.Follow me on Twitter @T4Verts -
Re: What's the benefit of cloud/online CFM
There are 2 advantages:
1. Multi-user CFM
2. All tunings and patches apply to your existing CFM. No restarts.
For the solo CFM only #2 applies.
Personally, considering how inexplicably bad the CPU AI is at playing qb, calling plays, and playing defense, I see solo online CFM as a 100% broken and unplayable mode. It is ridiculous that the combo of the broken online CFM and the inability to patch an offline CFM means that a solo CFM has to wait a month or more just to have a decent experience.

Tuning is the only advantage if you are a solo offline CFM guy. I am not 100% sure if commentary updates apply to this as well though...
Is the tuning worth all the limitations that has come with building solely around an online CFM? That is for the consumers to decide.Comment

Re: What's the benefit of cloud/online CFM
Some advantages for online Franchise:
- play a Franchise with your friends anywhere in the world (the main reason to use online Franchise in the first place)
- access to your Franchise from any console
- access to your Franchise from the companion app
- leveraging the companion app, access to your Franchise from GamerHuddle / LeagueDaddy / equivalent third-party service
- faster advance week simulation times
- any server-side updates / tuning changes apply to your franchise immediately; you don't have to wait for a patch or a client title update
- you can start a cloud Franchise from a Play Now Live game
Some advantages for offline Franchise:
- you can set up 32 team control and play Football God if that's your desired mode of play
- you aren't at the mercy of EA's servers as to whether you can access your Franchise (Madden's servers are very reliable in my experience, but still worth noting that if they go down, you can't play your Franchise)Comment

Re: What's the benefit of cloud/online CFM
that's the breaker for me.. that's why I stick to offline.. I don't have to ever worry about dropping signals , or ea servers.. or just my web service period..Comment

Except if MS servers are down they can't authenticate your key and you can't play the game period. Happened to me and many others a few weeks ago.Follow me on Twitter @T4VertsComment

Re: What's the benefit of cloud/online CFM
I usually start an offline franchise mode right when the game comes out. Then later in the season or after the super bowl I'll start an online one from that point in the season and take over from there. I wish they would bring the option to start anywhere I'm the real season to offline franchises, I don't know why it's not an option because online even solo you are at the mercy of the EA servers.Comment

also, it auto-saves. I like that feature alot. You can't save before the superbowl. Play it, lose, and then reload an old save and do it again... or more majorly. You cant do a draft, see who has good dev, then draft them all. It keeps you honest when you can't cheese yourself, because it auto-saves.Comment

Re: What's the benefit of cloud/online CFM
All of the above, and it simulates a LOT faster. There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.
The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.
