    xbox 360 impressions 2k18

So I have both an xbox 360 and xbox one, and since I am old school, I prefer to play the xbox 360. I purchased 2k18 for both systems, and to be honest, I haven't even opened the xbox one version. here's why.

I have purchased nba 2k for the last 6 or 7 years. Last year, they did not improve anything. It was a roster update ( rookies with mostly generic players with bald heads, other than the top 5 draft picks. ), and team usa which I played for two seconds. The game was exactly the same.

I also purchased 2k17 for xbox one, and while its much better graphically, I found the gameplay too challenging, constantly adjusting sliders, difficulty level, and then the 95 patches they made screwed up everything. Not a fan.

So, now I purchased both again, fully expecting more of the same for the xbox 360 version, and finally I would regrettably move on to xbox one. This is not the case.

Besides the updated rosters, they obviously updated the uniforms, which are amazingly brighter as well as the courts, for the most part. Additionally, the big change is they put mostly all of the rookies in with their faces, customized. Very few generic players. I did not expect that. They also have the all time teams, which is cool, just like xbox one. There are some new animations, but pretty much that is it. To me its worth $40 not $60, but that's another story. The gameplay is great (I don't have to adjust sliders at all other than injury and fatigue), and it plays very well and realistic.

I do not enjoy a game that is overly complex, very detailed, and can't just pick up and play. I don't want an arcade game, but nba 2k18 is well worth the money as long as you know that the new features are limited. If you haven't purchased a 2k for a long time or were unhappy with last year's, I highly recommend dropping the 60 dollars and getting the game with realistic expectations, which is key

I'm like you with playing and enjoying a game that's fun and challenging, but, I've noticed the players you mentioned with generic faces are still generic but now with portraits which still bums me out and some of the all-time players are generic too, I'm hoping they have a patch that will give us real players. With that said right now I'm still stuck on 2k14 and 2k17. Thanks for your feedback.

did you download the roster update from 9/14? I went through the rosters, and even 2nd rounders had customized faces. There were a couple random generic people, and the rookies from 2017 version still are completely generic, even though the pictures are updated. I did not really look at the all time teams, etc., Not perfect, but like my prior post said, I haven't even opened the xbox one version.
