A couple of tips for Xbox users:

If you dashboard at any time during the trial to watch Youtube/Mixer ect. the trial time will still be running, so always make sure to press start on the game app and quit it when taking a break.

You'd also be surprised by how much time can be lost while just browsing the menus; last year I wasted half the trial screwing around with sliders and tactics! My advice is to play it "out of the box" and get as much match time as possible.

And of course Achievement progress and game saves all carry over to the main game.

It is available on Origin as well.

Edit: assuming you can get through on the servers. Getting an error as I try to download.

I'm downloading now. It's saying a little less than two hours. Happy!

Just finished my first match. Chelsea v Atletico Madrid. Game has been tuned since the demo build. Tackling is easier (I had a terrible time tackling in the demo) and your AI teammates actually make an effort on defense.

So, I've downloaded the game and was able to play part of a match before it crashed. If I changed the half length to 15 minutes, the game would not load from the match setup screen. While I was playing I was able to notice that this is drastically different than the demo. Which I suppose is commonplace with this title now. Plays like FIFA 17 for the most part. Slow game speed does not seem slow at all. It's just ping pong back and forth, full sprint the whole way. I'm not pleased.

Re: FIFA 18 trial is available now for EA Access subscribers

Well this hasn't been a good start. I quit my first game at HT already and said the hell with it until our slider geniuses mold the game into something good. But here are the three things I noticed very quickly. Some of it was even one minute in.

                      1. Weight and momentum from the demo is completely gone. Feels like the players just glide and sprint around. In my demo impressions I said that defending would be hard, or at least hard to get used to. Not anymore.

                      2. Slow speed is not slow at all. It's quite fast. As KTBFFH said, it's a ping pong match at the moment. There's zero rhyme or reason to even build up play. Same issues that NHL has. It just doesn't feel like soccer in any way.

                      3. I was playing Nottingham Forrest and they had 93% passing in the first half. I would guess that 60% of those passes were the rocket passes. I think it's the same thing we faced last year. It was super annoying.

I really wish I could say one good thing about my experience but I can't. I love this series, with sliders.
I just was not expecting my first game to be as poor of an experience as it was, after playing the demo.
For the life of me I just can't understand how a game can change so much from the demo to the final version. The biggest thing that I have confidence in is knowing that sliders will help fix the game. I think the sliders have essentially saved the series for us.

FIFA 16 all over again? Ugh.
