2K18 Patch Wishlist

Was wondering if this is something we could get stickied? Something Czar, LD2K, etc can see easier when they enter the forums.

Gameplay as a whole feels good to me. The game as a whole is great. I'll let you other guys who have spent more time with the game give any input if there is any.

For me, I'll start with art-related stuff I'd like to see patched.

1) Player Body Edit

The ability to edit current NBA players' bodies (wingspan, torso, shoulder width).

This is huge for many people who create custom rosters. This is something that's been in the game for the past X amount of years. I have no idea why it was taken out (even tho CAP still has it).

A lot of players in the game look way off, because their arms aren't long enough. Or, their torso is too long/legs too short. And shoulders way too wide.

This alone is killing my 2K18 experience. Seeing a guy like Thon Maker with a wider body and short arms just makes me cringe. It really takes away from the realism.

So please 2k, bring this back.

2) Court lighting

So many arenas look so dark, The lighting in 2K16 was bad. Last year it improved. This year it seems to have taken a big step back.

Now, the Lakers court in the game looks pretty bright. Maybe get the other courts on that level of lighting at least.

3) Court reflections

Courts look quite dull this year. Barley any light or player reflections on the floor. I think you can see more light reflections in 2K cam. But in Broadcast cam, forget about it.

3) Bring back Broadcast Generic cam

This is the camera I always used (with adjusted height/zoom). It's been in the game for year. Yet, they decided to get rid of it this year. Now, there is a Broadcast Zoom and Broadcast Low cam, but even after messing with the height/zoom, I can't get the same angle I like. The other Broadcast cam seem to look like Broadcast Generic, but it doesn't allow you to zoom or adjust height.

4) Thinner Legs

Last year they seemed to have done a better job with this. This year guys' legs (not every one, but the majority) are just too thick. Most NBA players have SKINNY legs. Even if they're ripped upstairs. (see photo below of Thon and Giannis)

Not sure if this is patchable, but I swear last year, legs were on the thicker side at launch, then one day I noticed they were quite skinny. Not sure if it was part of a patch...or if I was just imagining things.

My only wish is for them to add back an option to do expansion team in myGM (aside from fixing all the bugs and issues in myGM/myLeague)

I have a strange request, but I really wish they would put the stats how they used to be. Meaning I'd like the games played and MPG to be at the beginning of the stat screen as opposed to what they changed it to. (PPG is first now)

The only things I want address is CPU offensive rebounding being really high, and CPU not leaving good jump shooters open on the corners.

I would love the option to use custom rosters in MyPlayer. That might be a tall task, but there's not really team-centric cutscenes

And the nice thing about being able to edit torso length...making the torso shorter makes the legs look longer. So it gives guys a more lanky look that many are missing. See: KD's player model.

Yup. This sorely needs to be patched in.

On another note, would love to see the lean/regular/ripped body options working again. This would help remedy players not having well-defined musculature...

2k18 Patch Wishlist for MyCareer Mode

1. I wish I had a way to 'skip' past long cutscenes. Especially ones that I have already seen more than once.
   
   
2. I wish I had a way to equip various clothing in my inventory... anywhere I am standing... ... like we used to be able to do... WITHOUT having to run all the way across the neighborhood, back to my apartment... then wait to ride the elevator... then walk across the whole room, into a closet... then wait to get back on said elevator... so I can run all the way back across the neighborhood... to continue what I was originally doing before.
   
   
3. Speaking of clothing... I wish we could see a full 360° degree rotation of MyPlayer (that also allows you to "zoom in" a little bit) so we can "preview" any clothing we intend to buy, BEFORE we spend our VC. (i.e. If there is something written on the back of the t-shirt... or if a logo is on the back of that jersey.... I want to know what says, or what it looks like... before I spend my money. Thanks.)
   
   
4. I wish I could 'preview' ANY hairstyle on my head, and see what it might look like... without having to PAY for it... like we used to be able to do.
   
   
5. I wish the CAP system would allow me to change the details of my face, like the slope of my forehead, or the width of my nose, or the size of my chin... like we used to be able to do.
   
   
6. I wish I didn't have to PAY ANY VC AT ALL just to change the 'base' look of my character, like my hair, or facial hair. or the color of my hair. (i.e. If 2K wants to charge VC for hairstyles, at least give us like a basic set of (30?) different 'free' hairstyles to choose from... then add lots of 'premium' hairstyles that we might have to unlock somehow, or pay a little extra VC for).
   
   
7. I wish the CPU would not INSTANTLY RECOVER the vast majority of 50/50 "loose balls", before I even have a chance to make a move.
   
   
8. I wish my teammates did not constantly "fumble" my DIMER passes when they are filling the lanes on a fast break... which allows their CPU defender to catch up, or just steal the ball outright. It's ok to fumble sometimes. But it seems the CPU rarely fumbles when compared to my teammates. Especially because when my teammates fumble the ball, it usually results in a quick turnover. But when the CPU fumbles the ball, they instantly RECOVER the ball & keep it moving. Just want it to be more equal. Thanks.
   
   
9. I wish my CPU teammates would stop leaving their assignment wide open in the corners to shoot uncontested 3-pointers, when playing "man-to-man" defense. (i.e. My Teammate's assignment is standing all alone in the corner... so why is he hanging out in the paint, slacking off him so badly???)
   
   
10. I wish I could sink just as many "Good Release" (mid range) jumpers... as I can sink "Slightly Late", or "Slightly Early" (mid range) jumpers... while uncontested... Because right now, I feel like I have to shoot more "reckless shots" while moving... than "sensible shots" from a standstill...in order to score with a 2-Way Sharpshooter PG.

Bring back the 2K WIRE CAM! If not, at least give us an option to have the key ZOOM in when playing on the 2K Low cam. As it stands now, the camera does not ZOOM in with Key Zoom on when playing on the 2K Low cam. The camera will just pan upwards at an angle (which that part I like) but instead of zooming IN the it actually zooms OUT which makes it really hard to see what's going on down low.

I like the 2K Low cam this year & it's almost perfect but the only thing making it unplayable for me is the camera not zooming in with Key Zoom on. Unfortunately I really don't like any other gameplay cameras this year so this is a HUGE problem for me.

The 2K WIRE cam had Key Zoom perfect in 2K17. It zoomed in at the perfect height & angle. I loved how close it brought you into the action. Just give us an option to make the Key ZOOM in close while using the 2K Low cam. They can call it Key Zoom 2. Mike Wang PLEASE make this happpen.

Also, it would be nice if they could clean up some of the player clipping. It's a little excessive this year.

Those are the 2 major issues I have with the game that I would like to see patched.

1. CPU time out logic- CPU doesn't call time outs enough or in situations where they should. So many times you can go on like a 14-0 run and CPU will not call time outs. Also a lot of games CPU will only call like 1-2 times outs the whole game even if the game is close.

2. CPU subbing biggest issue being that CPU plays guys to many minutes. Seeing a lot of games where the top player is playing like 43 minutes guys don't play that many minutes that often any more. Maybe if it is the playoffs but 43 is a lot. It used to be you would have like a guy or 2 play like 40-41 minutes not you are seeing guys leading the league at like 38 instead and more guys at like 34-36 instead of like 37-39.

3. Fouls not enough none shooting fouls. Having more none shooting fouls would look more realistic and would help to make the pace of the game more realistic. In real life you may have a possession where there is 12 seconds on the shoot clock and a foul is called and then like 6 seconds later a shoot is taken. That means like a 18 second possession. In the game instead you don't have those kind of fouls called and that just results in like 12 seconds or 13 seconds and then a shoot. Also in like 10 games I think I have seen like zero charging fouls called on me or CPU and heck in the last like 5 games I have even put charging up high and still have not had one called. I would say like 90% of the fouls in the game are shooting fouls even with fouls up high. I am not confident that this can get fixed though because really it is like a problem in like ever basketball game ever made.

Out side of those 3 things the game is like perfect.

I want to have an option to use EVERY camera angle that is in the game in all modes.

For example - I like the "skybox" camera when I play offline, but I cant use it when I play online. WHY 2k?!

And of course this framerate drop issue after timeouts - this is a game breaker for me...
