Konami fix these 3 things and you will have a winner!

    1. CPU's pass accuracy should be toned down dramatically. It is ridiculous that a defender (even when under extreme pressure, sometimes even facing the wrong direction) should be able to execute a pinpoint 40 yard pass. Every time. On every level.

    2. Player switching is horrendous. The directional switching is inaccurate to say the least. On the rare occasions where you are able to switch to the intended player, the switching input makes that player stutter, automatically giving the opponent a 2-3 yard advantage. Dumb

    3. AI positioning awareness. Losing the ball is never fun, but there is no need for Konami to compound more misery by scripting the situation with poor animations, which "lock" your player for what seems like an eternity and then add AI incompetence on top. Example: the CPU tackles, you lose the ball. Your player goes into a "lost the ball" animation from which he takes ages to recover. The ball is now loose and the closest player is your teammate right there next to the ball. Instead of going toward the loose ball, he actually moves away in the opposite direction, leaving the CPU ages to reach the loose ball and take possession. Trying to override this with manual switching makes a bigger mess because one of your players has now moved away and the other is still in his "i lost the ball" animation.
Equally when you win the ball with a tackle, the ball is always chased only by the same player who tackled instead of the AI activating the nearest player. This results in really comical situations where the player nearest to the ball stands still and ignores the action leaving the ball tackler to run out of position to chase the ball.

Fix these three things Konami and you will have a winner!

Adam Bhatti said this yesterday on his twitter:

Spoke to dev team today, player switching patch coming soon, will be testing in Tokyo this week. Thanks for all ur feedback & ur patience.

Someone also asked him if they were patching fouls and he replied with this:

Yes, confirmed this already. Just about testing internally and setting a release date. Thanks.

They know about most of these issues. Now it's just a waiting game. Sadly the amount of transfers can't be fixed because its in the code.

It's encouraging they've recognised some of these

You guys are talking like these issues haven't been around for years. I'm not sure if konami officially recognized them before or not, but they sure knew about them.

Granted - these are legacy issues, but as the game improves in other areas, these feel more pronounced. The point I was trying to make is that if they fix these three, the game would be absolutely incredible. There is a lot that the game does right - from the visuals to the cinematic feel, physics, flow, etc. but just three issues mar the game to such a point that it's a source of frustration and it clouds all the good things. It's a case of throwing a lot of effort in 50 areas and not giving enough weight to the fact that neglecting 3 areas destroy the final offering.

I think your first two points worked pretty well on PES 2017. Aswell it had more fouls, matches was more physical and midfield was much tighter.

PES 2018 have improved a lot, but it has small problems and balance is a bit off. Game gets much better if Konami makes little tweaks which ones make defending more satisfying and effective. There is so much potential.
