    FIFA coded Bull[emoji90]

Every year I get hyped about the new installment coming out and every year is the same disappointment. The coded bull[emoji90] on WC and Legendary difficulty levels is just insane and really makes the game poor in that respect.
I have played a number of games now, on default sliders and using the Community Sliders and I'm going to have to revert to Professional level and adapt the sliders to make it competitive that way. The BS on pro isn't completely gone but it's way less than the higher levels.
I played games as Huddersfield (me) v Arsenal (CPU) on WC and legendary difficulty levels, 10 minute halves with default sliders and then the Community sliders. Didn't score in any, whilst Arsenal had every loose ball and bobble go their way, they scored in the 45+ or 90+ minutes in three of the games. Huddersfield striker Mounie didn't get a look in no matter how I tried. Their players were always one step ahead of me. When I played them all again only this time I was Arsenal, what do you know, Huddersfield got all the breaks, Mounie scored twice and Walcott was getting caught by slow defenders! I played several other random games too and this was all very evident in those games.
Sliders can fix certain aspects of this game but I'm afraid they won't change the BS! There has to be a level playing field with things like this, its bad enough trying to play a better team anyway without them having all the lucky breaks going their way.
I've also seen many people say the crossing is very OP this year. Well, as I said during the Beta play, I must have a different version of the game because I've used, assisted, semi and manual and not once have I put in what I would call a descent cross that's found my player!

Yeah, sorry man but this is more of a you problem than any sort of crazy coding. I'm playing on legendary and still had to tinker with sliders to make it more challenging. As do many. Yeah the AI gets little boosts here and there on higher difficulties but... The physics engine is a neutral third party lol.

It's not a you problem at all. Its extremely evident when the game decides to give the CPU a goal. Passes that are normally intercepted, slip right through your defenders or you mysteriously cannot switch to the closest defender to make a tackle. 45 and 90 minute all the time. the AI is weak, so having the game script goals provides a "challenge". Until they redesign the engine, this will be the case and even after quite possibly.

If PES had a better "career mode" I would never pick up another FIFA again. It really nailed the AI difficulty this year and its extremely difficult to beat the best teams (barca etc. etc) But, master league is all around garbage.

Better graphics in FIFA this year and a few gimmicky cut scenes, but I agree it's the same old gameplay. Good luck with the professional slider project.

Lol being bad at the game = scripted. What a world! [emoji23] Seriously I've been playing FIFA since 2006, and while I shared some of these thoughts back then (because I was bad) it's obvious to me it isn't scripted. Practice makes perfect. The computer is better and more intelligent at higher difficulties. But they don't get magical powers lol.

Lmao, I wish. I'd rather be developing games than working the desk job I have. I just think it's hilarious when kids try and complain about scripting when it's so obviously not. You're just not good enough at the game to play on higher difficulties. The sooner you accept that, the better off you'll be.

If you don’t think a lot of FIFA is scripted, then I’d love to have your copy of the game, because it IS and has been for awhile now.

Lol seriously? Another one? Geesh. You guys need to play on a difficulty that's more catered to your skill level clearly. I'll never be able to convince you, so I'm just gonna stop. But, as someone who easily beats the AI on default legendary, I can assure you it isn't lol. The only thing that happens is that they get slight boosts to speed and acceleration, which you can counter with sliders. They get more intelligent. They know how to abuse slow defenders on counter attacks. I suggest turning down the difficulty, messing with the sliders, or getting better with tactics and possession play. I'm out. ✌️

Ok, “get gud” guy. All I’ve seen you do is go out of your way to defend this game in every thread in the FIFA forum. Ever consider that since you’ve played so long, maybe you’ve figured out how to combat the scripted part, because that’s exactly what I have done. It’s not that I’m a great FIFA player. I just know what to expect. I’m done too. Don’t argue with people like you, especially on a video game message board. Enjoy your day. 👋🏻

'Every thread.' Yeah the whole two threads I've commented in that remotely 'defended' EA. One of which was simply explaining the way the expectations system works. You're the 'hyperbole is fun' guy. I'm saying practice makes perfect, or lower the difficulty. Because either way it'll make your FIFA experience more enjoyable. I've not thought 'man the AI was scripted to get that rebound off the post' or 'man they always score in the 90th minute' since like the second year I started playing. I just don't see it. Sorry me disagreeing disturbs you so. But whatever. It's cool, you can believe whatever you want. Hopefully you can still enjoy the game.

what you fail to understand we are saying is that we are beating the game on the highest level. so, to stop people from complaining that the game is too easy, they have coded it to allow the CPU easier goals once behind, to give the 'illusion' that it's challenging, based on the scoreline only. This isn't new, Madden has the same thing, as does the NHL series.

What EA is hoping is that their customers are simpletons and wont recognize this, and assume because I won 2-1 it was challenging. But, if I have 74% possession how challenging could it really have been?

Clearly, you are one of the customers EA was hoping to attract. So feel free to troll in another thread or go back to enjoying your FIFA

Lol nah, nevermind. Not gonna bother anymore. But it is ironic that the guy insulting my intelligence and telling me to get off the forums is accusing me of being a troll. Those in glass houses.

Look, FIFA is scripted. It has multiple lines of code that script the CPU behavior and physics. That's how it's been since day 1. PES is scripted as well. The difference is PES has never provided its line of code like FIFA used to.

FIFA takes the very true concept that you are most vulnerable after scoring a goal, 45th minute and 90th minute. That's not just FIFA, that is a fact of soccer. If you are/were a coach/player, then you would know that fundamental fact.

The problem is that FIFA over-codes the impact of these match situations, which is why it comes out seemingly scripted.

There is no true solution, because that means it works every time, but there are practices to implement. I personally become very aggressive with my tactics defensively. I switch to high pressure and hoof the ball as much as possible. My goal is to hit the corner flags because it puts pressure on their defense to build from the back. If I see them get advanced, I will switch mindsets to defensive and even park the bus.

Yes Matt as a veteran of watching football I totally accept that when you score you are vulnerable and that when behind, teams will go all out to try and score. However, it doesn't happen in real life as much as it does in FIFA, and yes I realize this is just a video game too! I very often resort to park the bus to try and defend a lead but the CPU goes into God mode and sometimes you simply can't do anything about it. Earlier in this thread it was mentioned that the higher level you go then the CPU gets little boosts in sprint and acceleration which is a false representation. Also, on Professional the loose ball bobble, deflections etc fall pretty evenly between both teams, on WC or legendary, those situations clearly go more towards the CPU which again is a false representation. Going to a higher difficulty level should mean the skill level of the players improves, not that they all of a sudden become faster and all the 50/50 loose balls go their way. That is what's frustrating to me. All that said, I've calmed down now and been using your sliders on WC and I'm doing ok.

I'm usually a PES player and have been for most of my life but have dabbled with FIFA from time to time and I used to see some spectacular cheese but I'm playing as Palace on world class and it's a blast. This could end up being one of the best careers I've ever played along with PES 3, 5 and 6, NFL 2k5, MLB 10, NBA 2k11... I am loving it so far.
