NASCAR HEAT 2 question about AI pitting

I started my career today and am racing my 1st NCWTS race at Atlanta. Right after the second stage started, the other trucks started pitting. This made no sense on why they wouldn't just pit at the end of stage 1. I have read some other posts and it appears this could be a game issue? My question is will this happen in every career race I run or does it just happen randomly?

I didn't have any issues in my race today at Atlanta - but it seems it is pretty hit and miss. How long of races do you run? I thought about not selecting the stage racing to avoid the random pitting issues, but ended up going with it.

I race 100 % distance

The AI pitting is an issue for me as well, seems they wait until they are running out of gas instead of pitting at end of stage. I have run 100% races and 50% races, it happened in both in my career with stages.

Hoping for a patch for it.

Still enjoying the game though.
