This thread will be the beginning of the career of Brendan McIntyre. A character based off of a combination of Michael Vick, and Steve Young. The story takes place at the start of Brendan’s Senior year. In Naperville, Illinois a town outside of Chicago. I will start updating the story regularly in the next week.

Re: The Weight of the World-The Career Of Brendan McIntyre
Football Season Begins!
Naperville, Ill-Welcome back football fans! With every fall comes excitement for the football season! And this year looks to be one of the best we've ever had! The Naperville Central team has been working hard almost every day this summer in preparation for the season. One of the big stories this offseason was a quarterback controversy. Last year Junior (Now senior) QB Jacob Schmidt led the Redhawks to a disappointing 4-5 season. In the final two games of the season Junior (Now Senior) QB Brendan McIntyre started leading his team to a 1-1 record while also showing that he can play. He went 45-62 283yds with 4TDs and 1INT. But he also rushed for 162yds and 2TDs on 16attempts. This started a debate within the team. Who was going to start? Well at the end of the summer it looked like Schmidt had won his job back. But two weeks before school started he was arrested for a DUI and spent a night in jail. After getting out, Schmidt was suspended from the football team indefinitely. "We cannot allow that kind of behavior in our school. This is exactly what we are trying to teach these kids to avoid." Said head coach Gerry Fisher. Well without Schmidt it looks like the starting job will go to McIntyre. We can only hope that he leads this team in the right direction.

Brendan McIntyrePart 1
(Naperville Central players run onto the field against before the game against cross-town rival Naperville North)
Brendan looked at himself in the mirror. He knew he was ready for football season. Brendan was 6 feet tall and he weighed around 195lbs. He had grow an inch and gained 20 pounds over the summer. The first game was this weekend, and school had just started. He remembered he also had an AP Physics project that was due tomorrow. He didn't have time for that. Between playing football and being enrolled in all AP courses he was struggling. Brendan was smart though. He was always in the Gifted program and he was a straight A student. He probably would have been called a nerd if he wasn't a freakishly talented athlete as well. He had to give it to his parents though. He certainly hit the jackpot when it came to the gene pool. His mother had a degree in mathematics from the University Of Illinois. She taught college math at the local junior college. His dad had a business degree from Notre Dame, where he had also played football. Thinking about his dad made him angry. His dad was surely going to be drafted into the NFL. He even was the MVP of the 1993 Cotton Bowl. Part of what made his dad so great was the fact that when we was angry nobody could stop him, and Standing at 6 foot 7 and 300lbs at his peak, no one would want too. But his gift became his greatest enemy. It all came crashing down he got into a fight with a fellow D-Lineman and was kicked of the football team. It made him angry because he knew what his dad could have been. No one wanted to take a risk with a shaky Defensive Tackle with a bad temper. Thankfully his dad at least hadn't had any outbursts in a few years. Brendan snapped back into reality, what time was it? Brendan checked his watch 8:27 it read. Shoot he was going to be late for school.Comment

Naperville Central defends their home turf as they defeat the Waubosie Valley Warriors!
(QB Brendan McIntyre (7) Outruns Kevin Harlemon (52) of the Warriors defense for 31yds)
Naperville, Ill Wow! What a game! Brendan McIntyre really showed why he should be the starting quarterback. The Redhawks got off to a quick lead, and were up 10-0 at the end of the first quarter. But Waubosie would not go away. After scoring 10 unanswered points to tie the game at 10-10. Naperville got lucky. With only 12 seconds in the half McIntyre tossed it up to Thien and he caught a 62-yard touchdown. Still in the second half though, Waubosie would not go away. With just over 2 minutes left, and the Redhawks with the ball the game looked over. But after a costly third-down sack and a missed 32-yard field goal the Warriors had one last chance. After driving down the field the Warriors had 16 seconds and 19 yards to go. On a crucial third down the Warrior Quarterback threw a bad pass, and it was picked off in the end zone by linebacker Joshua Bandy. 14 seconds later the Redhawks walked off the field tired, and sweaty, but victorious.
Here are your Offensive and Defensive players of the game!
Offensive Player Of the Game
