To Buy or not to buy? That is the question
I'm really leaning towards not buying this years version of the game. I've not been blown away by anything and feel the improvements are very small. I'm very curious as to what every is thinking.

Re: To Buy or not to buy? That is the question
For me it feels like compared to other sports/fighting games it's impressive how many things they have noticeably improved in 1 year.
I feel like it's the things like the much improved lighting system or the way the wrestlers sell the affects of the match, not necessarily a single feature that makes 2k18 a must buy.
I would summarize my feeling on this years game as every time news on the game came out, for me it was positive or even something better than I would have hoped for this year.
Some of these changes may not be what you were looking for or not as big of a change. Another person might not care about these changes and want story lines, gm mode, or dlc that's interesting to them before they buy.
For me all of these improvements add up so that I can't imagine playing 2K17
On a side note I felt like you towards NHL'18 and after reading reviews here decided it was like an improved NHL'17 but not enough to make it a buy for the first time in years. -

There were smaller changes that makes it worth the upgrade IMO. For those looking for the big features, you will be disappointed.Comment

Since the universe mode blog was a 2 minute read with more filler than Monday Night Raw (
) I think I'll either pass or wait for a Steam Sale.

Yeah there weren't any huge changes, besides the lighting system maybe. But if the smaller ones work like I think they will I'm really excited to see how they play out.

I’m at the point where my purchases every year depends on how stable and reliable the online aspect is. Needless to say it’s been a few years since I bought it.

Seeing as though 2K finally listened to the PC community and gave us a release on the same day as the consoles. I'm going to make it a pre order purchase. Kudos to 2K for finally lookling out for the master race.Comment

Re: To Buy or not to buy? That is the question
I’m either a no or maybe around thanksgiving or Christmas when it’s cheap. Here’s what bothers me: having to buy higher products to get say angle or rvd, lack of outfits for characters (I shouldn’t have to do what is required to change aj styles who just color swaps), the price and value of the season pass, and the lack of a current day roster. I get the game gets somewhat locked in April, but cmon, I have to edit things like Enzo/cass or buy the hardy boys...even if they won’t add costumes or new guys, give a roster update like other sports titles. I find myself editing stuff more than playing the game. I’ve been deluxe with the season pass since the first game on PS4. I just bought the base game last year. I had no desire for a season pass. I’m sort of underwhelmed with the whole series now. Itreminds me of madden. It’s the only game for that particular sport, but it’s not that great anymore to me.Comment

Re: To Buy or not to buy? That is the question
Might wanna do a little more research man. Don’t have to buy deluxe for Angle. This is actually one of the biggest if not biggest current roster. Missing more older guys than usual, not the other way. Just FYI but the upgrade isn’t for everyone.Comment

Re: To Buy or not to buy? That is the question
Good opinions and I thank everyone for sharing. It has given me more to think about. I'll decide before the end of the week although I think sitting out this year and see what they do for next year is still the way I'm leaning.Check out my updated 2017 blog on building a high school football video game:
