I just can't get into this at all... don't really understand what they hope will come from this
I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

I'm fine with esports but I just don't think NBA 2k esport is intriguing at all. Like once I have a high overall and all my badges I almost exclusively play Pro-AM but I find watching other people play Pro-AM boring as hell. It's just not a good esport imo.

esports for 2k should be almost a entirely different game. Something more similar to versus mode or offline play but unfortunately its not.

Majority of the people who have top proam teams are people who have never really played on a basketball team. They also don't understand fundamental basketball concepts either.

Not sure if this will be entertaining but it will be an opportunity for 2k to be exposed...for better or for worse

I love how they want to get into eSports with pro-am but a significant amount of people can't even join the arena's with their teams, let alone play a game, because they live too far from each other and 2K servers can't handle that.

It'll be lovely to see people spend 30 minutes trying to join each others arena's during an eSports tournament.

Probably would be fine until the players start smack talking to each other, like idiots.

Hence why they have top pro am teams because if you play fundamental basketball you won't be successful in this game. Exploiting and cheesing is the only way to get and stay at the top. If you try to play like you see nba played then you will be a middle team at best.

Don't worry, they will fix it a week before the games start. Remember the break starter cheese in 2k16 when they waited for the tournament to start before they fixed it.

Im sure they will have dedicated servers. dedicated networks for this. so network slow downs will be minimal.

The NBA is investing money in this, so Im sure the infrastructure for this will be rock solid, and most likely handled by a third party.

I like the idea that AI wont be a heavy influence in the game play. stick skills, as well as team based skillls is what is desired. so this may be entertaining to watch.
I never cared for watching e leagues or online game play till I started playing Foxhole. Watching the game-play footage of well orchestrated units is a thing of beauty. the dialog between players, etc. when team based play works, is a thing of beauty.

Hopefully the e-league wont be filled with a bunch of cheesers, etc

I still don’t understand how I’d try out for this ??

How would I try out for the “Toronto” team ?

this game is way to much of a mess to consider eLeague ready...
