    Problem creating schedule

Hope somebody can help because I can't really close the schedule creation in 2K5 Editor without killing everything I've done so far.

San Diego, despite having only 8 games at home right now with the schedule complete, insists that I have 9. I don't. I've counted over and over. I've tried swapping all the games one by one, it just leaves another team uneven. Is this not doable? I was really hoping to provide a schedule for 2017-18 for the community. Help!

    Re: Problem creating schedule

Well, I accidentally closed the 2K editor.

It wasn't HOURS of work, but it was a while and I'm not doing it again. What I did do was create a text file to import to the 2K5Tool and Scheduler but that never worked for me.

I put every game of 2017-18 in a franchise file and then when I click save, numerous teams lose games, most of them are MNF games. When placed in NFL 2K5 the game loads the franchise file successfully but never goes to the franchise screen.

I'm not sure why this happens. It might be because of the LA Rams or TNF games but idk.

Hmm... Well I suppose that's not as weird as when I created one of those text files for importing into 2K5 Scheduler and then loading into 2k5 Editor and it set half my games in the year 1895. Absolutely no clue what the heck that was.

Here's a thought... Can we find out EXACTLY how many games and at what times 2K5 wants to schedule games at every week? And then we just go in and place the games from this season as close to that as possible in chronological order. Simple as that. Even if it means making EVERY game be at 1 on Sundays with a Sunday nighter and a Monday nighter. My point is keep it EXACTLY like the game aiming for correctness of schedule not date and time. I would try this but honestly, after today, I don't even wanna look at 2K5 editing tools for a few days.

          Here's a schedule.
Should be able to import into Flying finn's editor.

It's not perfect, but I'm pretty sure the games are correct (team-wise).

          [UPDATE 20 OCT]
It's more correct now. And I did not mess with the Year.
I found a better schedule to use for text operations at:
The Patriots kick things off against the Chiefs in the Thursday night opener, so mark your calendars

How did you do it? I'm really curious to understand what I could have done wrong?

I've learned that, in fact, you must keep the original month/day/time of games on the schedule for it to work right.

The problem: NFL 2K5's default season starts on 9/9/04, and the first week ends on 9/13/04. While setting 2017 as the start year for some reason you cannot put a game on a Tuesday at the end of the week in FlyingFinn's Editor. It makes 9/9/17 and 9/12/17 games possible, but a 9/13/17 game impossible.

This is a total shot in the dark, but... since in 2004 the 13th was a Monday, it was probably hardcoded into some part of the game for the purposes of people who played franchise several years even decades into the future that Monday should be the last day of any season's week. This year, the 12th is a Tuesday which is why you're probably seeing that you can't put the last game on that Tuesday. But you're saying that a Tuesday the 12th game IS possible? Then I'm confused.

That's exactly the one I used. I just extracted the columns from that page, put it into Word, bulk edited everything but the matchups out they way you need them in those text files, but when I imported, it completely screwed up the years. Some games were in 1899 or something.

                    Re: Problem creating schedule

                    Hey,

I had the same problem as you when tinkering with the posted schedule. Upon importing the schedule, I was getting games in 1899 as well as too many games for some teams and too few for others.

I found that I was using an old version of the editor. When I downloaded the newest version I could find, the schedule was imported correctly. Try downloading the file from the "2k5 Editor 4.0" link on 2k5rosters.com. That fixed it for me.

The schedule looks good (just that the year is 2004 instead of 2017), but I'm running into the freezing issue while simming games with the recent roster file.

No, I was already using 4.0.

I don't think this has to do with HOW the schedule is inserted. I think what matters more (though it's hard to tell with so few people working on the game anymore) is that the number of games per week and on what days remains the way the game wants it as WWEDX2007 said...

"I've learned that, in fact, you must keep the original month/day/time of games on the schedule for it to work right.

Having issues importing the current schedule into my latest roster update using the latest version of Finns editor 4.0. when I click on the schedule tab the only box I have access to is the edit schedule box, the import box is grayed out.

                        Am I missing a step?

It's a really buggy program. Sometimes just working in it for too long messes things up. Reload it, it'll probably be fine. I got the new schedules imported into your new rosters just fine.

Ok think I figured out the problem. I didn't have preseason turned off and that is why the import box is grayed out.

I tried to sim through the first week of the preseason made it to the last two games and it froze. Repeated and it froze again at the same point. All teams are at 53 players or under and I adjusted a few of the contracts so all teams are under the cap. I'm going to look over the four teams and try to figure something out.

Sent from my 710C using Operation Sports mobile app
